    SoapRecipe

It comes with time. Many of us have years in this craft. Your not going to learn all you need to know just from knowing the FA profiles. Making lots of soap and continuing to learn through others will eventually reap the rewards. Im sure that anyone here will tell you we are always learning...

    SoapRecipe

it is the only way to learn. But dont make online recipes. Learn the fatty acid profiles and make your own recipes to try. You will be able to understand better what each oil brings to the soap. It takes many years of formulating and testing to figure ou what works. After over a decade of...

    Who says Aging isn't good?

I don’t use many butters normally. More so on newer soap recipes. So can’t speak to those right now. But the faves of the bunch were over 50% lard, olive , coconut and avocado. I’ll have a better sense of it when I really analyze this endeavor. I’ll report back.

    Who says Aging isn't good?

That’s what I was saying. The men’s scents!!! Woodsy! And yes the lather so bubbly, creamy and gentle. I’m making lots of soap to put away with scents that can handle it lol. The beauty of being a long term soap maker. We get to enjoy these a decade later. The newbies have a long way to go lol...

    Who says Aging isn't good?

If your talking about growing older, well I'll debate you on that. But this time I'm talking about soap! I have been a soapmaker for over a decade. And with that being said.... I have made A LOT of soap! Always going through the experimentation stage, I can tell you I have hundreds of recipes...

    Increasing longevity

I do not use Beeswax , don't like it as its draggy and deceases lather. I personally do not think it has any place in soap IMHO. I use a tbsp of Salt in my lye water for hardness. I have never had an issue with hardness. Maybe because I always have a long cure to my soap. Minimum 3 months. I...

    Steaming Soap Ash

As you can see my soap was covered in ash. And it works great. Did you absolutely have it air tight? Very important to keep steam from escaping. I have never had it not work so I'm surprised.

Conditioning Help (please and thank you)

You will always have newer soapmakers refer to the word MOISTURIZING when wanting to create a bar of soap. But soap doesn't do that. You can make it less drying as the others have stated here. The ingredients matter in every bar and just one wrong oil at a higher percentage can negate the other...

    Steaming Soap Ash

What i like about this method is that it actually steams the entire soap. These were a different shape so that ae laying like that for a reason, but if you stand up you loaf type soaps it will also steam the sides. Even though there is no ash there, it will add a nice sheen to the soap as you...
