    Using lard, oily soap result

Besides what was already mentioned, I would want a clarification of what you mean by oily. Does it feel oily when you wash with the soap? Is there oil sitting on the soap? The more details you provide, the more likely you are to receive a pinpointed, accurate answer. Hope

    Soap curing

I also like plastic canvas for curing. Easy to clean and ensures no metal contact. Hope

What soapy thing have you done today?

How do you like the feel of the soap queen formula? Hope

Sad day, i guess i need to make a decision

Hugs to you. Love my pups but they do test my patience sometimes. FYI paper products are extremely appealing to many dogs. One of my beagle mix is super sonic quick to snag your napkin after dinner. So are any oils, salves, etc. I had one that was addicted to Vaseline (back when I used it)...

    FO recommendation

Does it have that whiff of decaying fish? I'm one of the few crazies that misses that scent. Hope

    Butter bars won't harden

I am in the finishing stages of tweaking a 3 butter lard soap. Trying to decide if I need all three or not. I do love it though and I think the butter brings something beyond what I got from the lard. I have SWA for my liquid and am working on figuring out the best lower cost sub that brings...

My first soap on a stick

I thought I was prepared for rose FO acceleration but I couldn't help myself and gave a wee little whir of my stick blender just to be sure the FO was mixed. Oops! :-) Now I understand what soap on a stick looks like. I'm thinking about chopping it up and using as pink confetti. I dont have...

    Shave Soap in a Cup?

If you are ever inclined to share I would also be grateful for any tips. I have previously read (and tried to digest) the incredibly long shaving thread elsewhere in the forum. I've made that one, one with soy wax, and a couple others and none are quite right. The man really deserves a better...

    Butter bars won't harden

My favorite soaps are lard and butter. Thick creamy lather and my skin is soft as a baby's butt. Hope The illipe is harder than kokum. With the lard it should definitely be hardening by now I would think. Very odd. Hope

    Shave Soap in a Cup?

I got some from them last year and we were disappointed. Wonder if they changed suppliers. Hope

    Soap Zero!

What kind of reaction? Love learning. Also I giggled at this as I got a plain soap from a local soaper and it dried the crap out of my skin. I had to toss it. How funny and different we all are. (Also I actually love a plain white soap - so pretty!) Hope

    Silicone molds scenting

THIS is why I don't want to CPOP anymore. Especially since the oven is brand new and an expensive induction that the man splurged on for me. Hope

    So many weeks to cure...

This particular formula in the first week is already gentle and non-stripping, unlike some well cured formulas I've tried - both of my own making and purchased from various sources. It continues to improve with age but my testers get used a lot for hand washing while the big bars are curing and...

    So many weeks to cure...

I'm working on finalizing tweaks to this as my base formula for when I sell so don't want to share. But I can tell you that lard and butters will make a creamy lather. Additives can also make a huge difference. Hope

    So many weeks to cure...

I disagree with the absolute that CP soap is ALWAYS harsh and rough to skin with a 2-÷ day cure. I have a formula that is very creamy lather (in hard water no less) with nice after feel on hands - not drying at all. I've done some small tweaks on it variations and a few batches and they're all...
