How much super fat do I use??

Hi Jen, it looks like your recipe already has the 5% superfat. Some people set aside a "superfat" oil to add at trace, but I think the general consensus is that there is no need to do this. People really only do this if they are using a small amount of an expensive specialty oil anyway. ETA...

Working with Thick EOs ~ Benzoin

I've been using rice (dry!) to keep my lip balm tubes upright as I fill them. Lovely things, these rice grains ;)

    Make and take?

Let us know what you end up doing and how it goes. It will be an adventure for sure! Had one more thought - you could have pretty papers, scissors and glue for people to package soap prettily. Some years I have fun making boxes or other pretty wrappings for the soap, and I think lots of adults...

Working with Thick EOs ~ Benzoin

Oh, haha I just opened the link. Hot DRY rice! The first time I read this I imagined you heating your benzoin in a fresh batch of sticky rice. I will try this method after all :)

    Opinions on this recipe

It looks like that nutrition label is missing the info to estimate the oleic-nissity☆ of the oil. The front side is covered with phrases good for frying (high) but also good for salad dressing.... wonder if this is a mid-oleic then? I think you'll be safe, no matter the oleicnissity* of the...

    Attention Canadians!

@MGM thanks again for another scent review! I really want to like their FOs because they are the cheapest when you only want a few ounces. I haven't tried as many FOs from them, but I'll second that Woodland Themes sticks, as does Midnight Jasmine. I loved the Midnight Jasmine (I think I might...

    My first volcano!

Haha you are lucky I have just enough beeswax for the lipbalms I have planned today, or I would steal your recipe. (Don't worry, I'll forget it by tomorrow). I soap pretty hot these days too, but I'm thinking your oils would need to get even hotter to melt the beeswax. Plus beeswax will speed...
