What soapy thing have you done today?

I wanted to take a minute to thank you all for your kind words about my soap.....but now I just feel like that awkward girl who really thought putting my key in the fishbowl was part of some "guess how many keys are in this bowl" game Either way, thank you all for your lovely comments. You've...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I recently ordered the soap mold anglers off etsy and I was dying to use them for a relatively easy design (I needed a win) So I decided to try doing am onbre pour at an angle with two colors. I kinda like the design though next time I think I'd do a gradient (I think that's what it's called?)...

What soapy thing have you done today?

So, I sent a package of soap and lotion bars to my mom. And then I cut these. I'm not sure how I feel about them!!!!

my soap is too soft and not holiding shape help me

Wow, look at the two of you going above and beyond! Super high olive oil soap is on my 2021 bucket list so these posts were great, and how nice to offer to find someone to translate. Sorry I'm waiting for my lye water to cool, so I'm all up in people's beeswax

Hey Beginners! What was your first ever soap attempt?

OMG, so my friend from work bought me a soapmaking book. And I decided to fully go for it and do a honey-goatmilk shampoo bar. It was such a horrible disaster. I had lightly frozen my fresh goat milk but it still scorched, and then I had honey in it.....and somehow it went through false trace...

If you put essential oils in soap and you use the soap in a hot shower, can you breathe it in?

I'm also mostly guessing, but if you are using melt and pour soap, its already gone through the saponification process....so I would think that as long as you add the essential oil below the flashpoint temperature it would retain the same aromatherapy properties. I defer to anyone else who...

    Using lard, oily soap result

LOL, there is a fine line between bravery and insanity. I feel closer to that line every time I try to do this method!

Rethinking my shipping charges to customers

Are you putting an order minimum for delivery? I'm just curious.

    Using lard, oily soap result

Everyone is saying their piece and I am glad because thats what a forum is about. However, props to the new soapers for having the courage to ask questions, even if they don't ask them the right way or inadvertently misread tone. Its brave to put yourself out there and ask a question that...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I tried the clamshell swirl for...let's see, the 5th time. I'm considering just buying a membership for the soapchallenge club tutorials. Are the tutorials really great? I also got a super awesome set of mold anglers from etsy. Now I must make a chevron design.

Recommendations for a new loaf cutter?

You got yours before me and you posted pictures of soaps with such professional cuts. I was so jealous for those two days until I got mine!

    Bramble Berry fragrance oils?

I totally agree, soap queen uses it in a ton of her videos and people seem to really like it. I can see how it would appeal to a lot of people, I just have my own peccadillos. What I will say about energy is that it behaves exceptionally well in cold process soap. So if you like the...

    Bramble Berry fragrance oils?

I really like BB fragrance oils. I haven't tried any on your list but I think their fragrance oils are....complex and well blended. Right now I can't stop sniffing magnolia leaf and Tonka. I really like their clover and aloe, candy apple rose, lush succulent and rejuvenating eucalyptus. NOT...

    Using lard, oily soap result

I've felt like you have. I just think some people communicate differently, especially online. Its hard to read between "no nonsense and just wants to get information to help" and "bothered and dismissive" @DeeAnna has normally been so helpful to me so I think its just a matter of difficulty...

Recommendations for a new loaf cutter?

A few months ago, I purchased one off Amazon. It was around $90 and shipped for free and arrived quickly. I think @Zing ordered one too and he seemed to like it and I love mine! I just sliced some bars 5 minutes ago. Personally, I feel like a tidy cut makes my disaster soaps look palatable...

    The hardest thing about soaping

Its controversial, but I rarely wait that long for the soap to cure. I get ants in my pants at about 2 to 3 weeks.

Beginners! What're your favorite soap methods?

Very nice! Having done it, the biggest trick was having a totally level and flat mold on a completely flat surface. I had used an old Amazon box lined with freezer paper and it worked okay, but the lines weren't as perfect as I would have wanted! I think had i used the smaller slab mold that...

Beginners! What're your favorite soap methods?

That sounds lovely, melt and pour or cold process? I once made a rainbow soap out of some trial size fragrance oils I had and it remains one of my favorite soaps for its mix of scents and festive look!
