    Post your Gripe

Thanks @ShannonAll and @amd i am not at all against putting her on some kind of medication for anxiety, thats what i am hoping for, but here she has been with 3 different vets and basically all of them are more in favor of a “this has to be something phisical like pain” and are not looking at...

Hi! Yes. We got her Adaptil and it did nothing for her. At least we got her an appointment with a different vet (same clinic), so hopefully he will be more open to the mental health problems. Fingers crossed.

One of my dogs has panic attacks that come from nothing. Nothing at all. Its psicological. New ver doesnt believe me and so she prescribed and analgesic for my dog because her behavior must be because she is in pain. She is 15. I’m pretty sure she has pain somewhere because she is 15. But her...

Update: i tested the soaps i was missing and also retested the most recent one. None of them are scrarchy so that rules out the coconut cream? Oh except the cocoa butter one that does seem to have the scratichies but as noted before, not very many of them.

    Scratchy soap help

@BattleGnome you mean the “scratchies”, right? I dont own a thermomether so i cant measure the temps but i can try first and see if they melt at all in the first place and figure out the thermometer part later i guess. @Lin19687 this last few batches i did soap a bit hotter than usual. Not...

What was an "AHA" moment for you, in learning how to soap

That if a recipe calls for 100 grams of water i can use 50 to dissolve the lye and 50 for an additive like coconut cream. Duh! I dont masterbatch since i usually dont use water, just with coconut cream. So basically i figured out i just had to divide in two.

    Scratchy soap help

Yeah, i cant figure it out either. I’ve been trying to let the soaps i am making now cool slowly (pop them in the microwave but without turning the microwave on) and let then be till the next day. Scratchy soap help

No, i dont add cool to hot oils, all of them are room temperature. I melt the solids (palm, lard and coconut) just at barely melted, (there are still chunks not fully melted so i still it until they are) never hot (save the first few times i did it but those batches were fine) and then add my...

Thanks, but i can not tell you temperatures since i dont own a thermometer. Its just room temperataure, between 20 to 25 C. The soap goes in to a silicone mold that goes in to a carboad box with a lid so it gells evenly which always does. After it does its thing i remove the lid and let it cool...
