    CP Double Pour

I make layers all the time. If I am doing a 2-layer, I split the batter at thin trace, do my coloring and fragrancing if different scents per layer. (for a fast moving scent I wait til just before I pour the layer to add it.) Then I bring the bottom to a thick trace, pour it in the mold and...

    Mac Users

At the avery.com website you can download a free label template. I think it works far better for PCs, but I also use it on my MAC. I do find it kind of frustrating and limiting (I could do great things once I got used to the PC version), but it does ok for a free program.

    Green Irish Tweed...

that's a great scent! Even though it's technically a 'male' scent, I know plenty of women who buy a bar for themselves. I didn't care too much for it OOB, but I liked it better in soap. I like it even BETTER on my husband after he's gotten out of the shower...the sandalwood drydown is fantastic!!!

    Who can afford sandalwood EO?

The best Sandalwood FOs in my opinion, are from Sweetcakes or Brambleberry.

    Who can afford sandalwood EO?

I would urge you not to use sandalwood eo in general. (and definitely not for soap!) It is a stunningly beautiful scent, but it is being overharvested at an alarming rate and we are pushing the trees to extinction. There are some fabulous sandalwood substitutes that are blends of the real thing...

    Peacock Dyes

I have used the peacocks in cp with varying success. I really like the yellow for a lemony color, the blue gets me an aqua, the orange is great. The green is more of an aqua-green. No luck with the purple and the red has been so-so. I used the pink once and got a nice pink but only the one...

    Jojoba Beads

you can mix them in at the end just before you pour(thick trace so they don't sink to the bottom after you pour) for some mild scrubbiness, also a contrasting color against a plain soap looks lovely. You can sprinkle them on top of a texturized top to add interest, or mix them just into one...

Elements bath and body--what happened to thier shipping??

yes shipping costs have really gone up! That said, remember that you are talking about an automatic cart. Why not get in touch with Tammy by email or phone and ask if shipping can be adjusted based on what you are ordering? Sometimes suppliers will do that.

    Good lavender other than 40/42?

I love the bulgarian, it has a bit more 'floral' scent to it. I get it from ScentWorks also, it is always lovely. The bulgarian is the one I use to make just a straight lavender soap. I also use NDA french lavender which does not have the more camphor-y tones of the 40/42, and that is what I...

List of FO's That Turn Soap Brown?

I usually do a layer on top that is unscented or scented with something complementary that won't turn brown. I prefer to do the top third that way, but I have also done half and half. That way I can have some color besides brown. I have done slab swirls, but no matter how 'fat' I make the...

    Body butter trauma

agreed with everything said already. You know, I don't even bother to do the melting/whip/chill routine anymore. I just soften the shea to room temp-ish, add either jojoba or avocado oil (I do 85% shea) and let the kitchenaid do its thing. I add the essential oils to the last few minutes of...

    Freezing oils

I always freeze my hemp oil between uses. It never really hardens up so "thawing" is a breeze.

    advertising and customers

Emilee sounds like you are covering your bases. It can take time to build up customers. They usually buy more around holidays, etc. I've found that unless they have special gift needs, most of them will wait til they are just about out of soap before they get more. Word of mouth is very...

    Ky Candle Supply

I love Ky Candle Supply...I get my tart wax, clamshell containers and safety labels from her. Last winter I fell in love with their Sugar Cookie scent (not skin safe, boo hoo) for tarts. Great prices and great customer service. I haven't purchased any soap supplies but they do have a nice selection.
