October 2020 Challenge - Tall and Skinny Shimmy

I "thought" I turned the mold with each pour (was supposed to be a color with a thin stripe of natural), but I completely lost my train of thought somewhere and messed up the sequence. Clearly it was worse than I thought because I obviously didn't turn the mold like I thought I did either 😂 Idk...

Still no shimmy. But that's ok. I got some pretty colors 🙂

October 2020 Challenge - Tall and Skinny Shimmy

I tried again today with more colors. I think the consistency of the batter was much better this go. I have discovered that if I distract myself by working on a making a small batch of melt and pour embeds while I wait for the lye solution and oils to cool down, I am more likely to successfully...

    Guacamole and Spaghetti sauce

I like @Dawni deconstructed watermelon idea. I like the pink too, as well as the speckles. Lately I am really liking soft pinks and soft greens together. Nice!

What soapy thing have you done today?

Thank you! I appreciate that 🙂 I had to use the flashlight on my cellphone to see the oils on top of my batter, lol!

What soapy thing have you done today?

I cut a batch of Zany's No Slime Castile this morning. I love this recipe, thanks @Zany_in_CO !! I also tried a hanger swirl for the first time. Not exactly a butterfly, but I think it turned out well. I fragranced with Nurture's Cedarwood and Sage. @AliOop I am still on the fence regarding my...

October 2020 Challenge - Tall and Skinny Shimmy

Really? Wow, thank you! I saw it as a complete fail and initially wasn't going to even mention it cause I was embarrassed! Lol! Maybe I'll try again with 3 colors if I get an opportunity. Thanks for the encouragement :)

October 2020 Challenge - Tall and Skinny Shimmy

Here is a pic. I had this vision in my head of a 'stunning' black and white shimmy with a thin red line in between. I attempted the red line with a mica line, as you can see in the white portion. The black portion ate it up. I really was just trying to avoid portioning off and coloring batter...

Thank you! I also had a torti who was the sister to the calico we lost last year (we adopted the sisters together but our torti passed a few years ago). She was the sweetest ever! I colored it with Activated Charcoal, Turmeric mixed with a tad of Nurture's Mimosa and a bit of TD for the white...

Cornstarch to make fragrance last longer?

I have heard some YouTubers say that clays anchor fragrance?? I haven't experimented tho, as I haven't played too much with fragrance yet.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Thank you! Our girl is 14 years old. I hope to have her as long as your parents had theirs. We lost another calico last year to cancer, she was 15. So this is kind of a "tribute" to our little loves :) I'll let you know on the soaping area. I have a mini fridge and barely working microwave...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Playing around with SM3 and figuring things out there. So far I really like it. I moved my soaping area out of the kitchen and into a designated corner in my crafting spot upstairs. I don't know if I like it though. It was crowded but convenient to be in the kitchen and right next to the sink...

October 2020 Challenge - Tall and Skinny Shimmy

I think this is a great try! At the very least a fun looking soap, so good job!! 👏 I didn't sign up this month. I did give it a try but my batter was too thick and I just got pretty well defined blobs sitting next to each other lol. They aren't even pretty blobs. Just blobby 🥴
