The spreadsheet is a great idea! The only issue I have with tracking this way is figuring shipping costs because they can make a huge difference. So while Nurture is on the more expensive end, I never have trouble meeting the $30 minimum for free shipping and I prefer several of their scents...

Nope, those shelves are $36 each in Amazon. I chose those because they come apart and lay flat so I can pack them up easily. I use a tote for all my setup supplies and with the 2 shelves can still fit it all into a single tote.

I do not add anything for DOS and don't have issues. I superfat at either 3 or 5%.

Do you use social media? If you have a fairly large following and several friends that also do, it makes a huge difference.

What type of soap are you trying to make? KOH is typically used for liquid soaps and shaving soaps. For bar soap you need NaOH.

Use it in soap! It's one of the oils in my favorite recipe.

I don't much notice anything special in my soaps from using butters at 10% or less. It's not cost effective to use them at higher percentages, so I no longer use them. A must have oil for me is avocado oil at 10%. Milk, beer, wine, honey, etc are a label appeal thing imo. Sugar does the same...

Does it smell off? Since you aren't selling, if the scent is fine, I'd make a small test batch to see how it goes. If it soaps ok, I'd use it up for personal soaps.

I don't think I'll have an entry either. I'm going to try, but still too soft to curl at the moment. I have a funeral to attend tomorrow and work 12 hours on Friday, so won't have much time.

I got my new scraper late last week but life got in the way and I didn't get to make a batch until last night. CPOP to speed it up, I hope to curl this afternoon and make my entry tonight.
