Yes. I live in Buffalo and hard water is the norm. It leaves scum but rinses off. When I stay at the element or other hotels in Mineapolis (they soften the water) I never feel like the soap is gone from my skin, or worse, my hair. Soft water definitely makes you feel that way.
I buy unrefined neem from new directions. While its smell is pungent - and no lie it is - the soap initially has a trace scent of it but after the cure there is no discernible neem scent.
Seriously - this stuff is incredible in soap.
I have made nothing other than neem oil soap since last year and have had no mosquito or fly bits since. I use no bug spray on what is basically a wetland. I do not use EO and make unscented soap which is just as effective.
None of my soap smells like neem and I use as much as 15%. It isn’t...
I make only neem oil soap and I don’t smell like neem oil. The bugs don’t care for me anymore and I never use bug spray on a property identified as a wetland
I make hot process soap and prefer powders overall. Pine rosin, beer, honey and wine I like adding as powders after the cook or in oils before lye. I found some nice wine powder online
Stearic acid will help with greasiness. See humblebee and me. It also does not moisturize as much. Body butter/lotion bars are always greasy. I put them in deodorant tubes and that makes it easier to use. I also like a high brittle butter bar - cocoa butter - and use cornstarch and arrowroot...
I too think oo used by some soaps is not straight oo. I use oo (herbal infused and evoo) and in every soap. I love it and buy it from restaurant depot at a discount. I also use it in cooking
I did not know that about soy wax. I use soy for wax melts only. I picked up soy butter from new directions. I like it and will use it in some body butters I think.
I find neem oil doesn’t come through after the cure. I found karanja oil which may well have the same benefits as neem.
I don’t like using palm much but I have vegan customers and Castile is not what they like.
I don’t know if there are any ingredients that are just label appeal if you are focused on your brand and know your ingredients. I use very unique oils and butters and they fit my brand while elevating my soaps.
Neem oil is in all my soaps and find it’s incredible as a soap ingredient while the...
If it continues to feel draggy try aloe Vera. I use powder in hot process so I’d see how to add it for cold process. Or corn silk in lye water is nice. I eat corn all summer long and dry the silk then pulverize it.
