    Titanium Dioxide

I think all white micas also contain TD. I use water soluble and have no problem with it dissolving. You can also strain it to be sure.

    Soap shrinking

I use binder clips. I have a couple that do that. Tape doesn’t stick to the silicone well.

    gelling milk soaps

This is a couple of them. Stay light beige. By warm I just touch the side of the container. I don’t take a temperature. Maybe 80 degrees. But that’s just guessing.

    Silicone rash woes

What your describing is soda ash. More common in ungelled soap especially in individual molds.

    Salt bars are too hard

No, using butter in it. I use 50% salt myself. I’ve been making them for 9-10 years now. My personal favorite.

    Would you use this?

I agree with Obsidian. I’d most likely use it in lip balm.

    Salt bars are too hard

Just personal preference. I didn’t like it much even at a year. Glad it works for you.

    gelling milk soaps

I make mostly milk soaps and always gel my soaps. I do soap just warm and lightly insulate. I do check it if it’s a new recipe. My regular recipes I know how they behave for the most part.

Thickness of Cut for Bar Soap

Mine are 1.25 as well. I like a chunkier bar of soap. 1” to me felt a tad too small. Plus my mods give me exactly 16 bars with no waste other then beveling.

    NaOH on soap label?

Eureka! Alternative to metal wire in soap cutters

I've got the wires that Bud Hafner uses on his cutters. I had one come with it when I ordered it and I ordered a couple extras. I can't remember what wire he uses. I'm sorry.

    I have a confession .....

I'm another one who doesn't wear gloves when soaping. I had one mishap and I had gloves on and the soap batter went inside my gloves and also had long sleeves on and couldn't get out of it fast enough. Even if a few grains land on my skin I know it as it itches before it gets worse. I'm...

Eureka! Alternative to metal wire in soap cutters

I agree with jcandleattic. When my ex-husband made my first cutter he tried several different options. He was a big fisherman so had a lot of stuff. They did stretch out. Even had a couple snap. Tried jewelry wire too and it worked okay but didn't do as well on harder soap. It's all...
