I usually end up with meat soap whenever I try a pink & white swirl or red & white swirl. I avoid those color combinations, or add a third color to break it up.

Aww- I hate to hear about all your stress, but perhaps something wonderful will come with all the changes. Good luck with your move and enjoy being near your family again.

I'm sorry for the incorrect terminology. Someone called it hand milling and I don't know what else you would call it. I chopped it fine, wet it with distilled water and let it soak for a few days. Then I'll stir in some fo and press into a mold. I've done it before and it turned out quite nice.

I just did this- or rather, I'm in the process of doing it. I wondered whether one method of rebatching was better for adding scent than another, so I did oven rebatch for part, and working on milling for another. I'll let you know how it turns out...

I grated my soap, then let it dry a bit and then put it in the food processor, and I got tiny bits of soap. The next time I did it, I didn't dry the soap and it didn't come out as small in the food processor.

I made a really nice peppermint bar in late September. It was 73% lard, 22% coconut and 5% castor. It was wonderful by Christmas.
