    Acceleration and cracking

I made my first batch of soap in two weeks and it accelerated and I smashed it into the mold. I insulated it as usual and checked it later to find that it cracked. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. When a fragrance accelerates your soap, do you cover and insulate as usual...

    first pine tar soap

Mine came out much darker than yours. I like yours better. I don't love brown soap unfortunately. Update us on "in shower performance"

Is soap fine in the mold for a week?

I like that color too. The blue is Siren's Song mica from Nurture Soap. The yellow was yellow vibrance and the green is savage garden both from NS.

Beef Tallow and Coconut Oil Soap Recipe

I made one with 85% tallow and 15% coconut oil and it was very nice and gentle with good lather. I think you could raise the coconut oil from that and still have a pretty gentle bar. It was hard as a rock!

    Ugeauxgirl's soaps 2022

More soap to share. This one is my gardening/dirty hands soap. Same batch. Half with only citrus zest and half with citrus zest plus coffee Lemon Verbena scent in a salt bar, and regular recipe soap. Oddly the salt bar smells stronger. Both cold process. Fresh bamboo and cranberry soap...

Is soap fine in the mold for a week?

Soap turned out fine and was easily sliced with my wire cheese cutter. It was fun to have soap to slice when I got home!

Is soap fine in the mold for a week?

I meant to make soap today but didn't get to. Tomorrow is the day before we leave on a trip. I probably won't have time to unmold it before I go. Will it be okay for a week in the mold? I can't think of why it wouldn't be, but I've never been able to wait much longer than a day before!

    Gardener's soap recipe

Here's mine- grated lemon peel is the exfoliant I added to these. I threw a little coffee grounds in the last bit of batter to make the one with black speckles

2022 (too soon?) Soap Making Goals.

Well I'm failing miserably at my goals of keeping my fragrance oil stash and soap mold stashes down. I just keep buying more! Hope your goals are progressing better than mine!

    Gardener's soap recipe

Lol- I saw on my gardening forum that you can eat rattlesnake weed tubers. I made my husband try it first. He asked me why he had to eat it first, and I told him that it's supposed to taste like a radish and I hate radish. 🤣🤣. It didn't really taste like a radish too much but we didn't die (...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I finally made gardening/mechanic soap using @earlene 's recipe. I had to use a different exfoliant as I didn't have any pumice. I waited too long though. By the time these are cured it'll be too hot to work in the garden much till Fall!

What soapy thing have you done today?

Sounds gorgeous- please post a picture! I use ITP swirl whenever my batter thickens up too fast. I think it looks better than with thin batter.

First attempts at hot process soap

I started with HP, and used to worry about it volcanoing. Now I do it on purpose. I love the subtle texture of HP too!

    Gardener's soap recipe

Here's the craziest thing about loofahs- they look like squash and TASTE like squash if you pick and eat them early. They only turn fibrous if you leave them on the vine for a long time!
