What is the best way to make a hole/tunnel through a bar of soap?

how about wrapping some wooden dowels in press and seal and putting them in the soap if using a slab mold maybe try gluing or screwing the dowels to a board that you can add the dowels to the soap and have a little weight on the dowel to hold them in place

    Drains and handmade soap

thanks--I have been thinking about this. I lived for 18 years in a house with VERY hard water and never had any issues with the pipes and I used mainly handmade soaps. not saying it doesn't happen but maybe something else is going on with the pipes. so maybe if I am asked again I could address...

    Drains and handmade soap

ok thanks--I know the lady I talked to tonight said someone told her that--not that she experienced it and she was nervous to use my soap much--she is a neighbor and we have the same water. So between store bought and handmade--handmade can cause issues?

    Drains and handmade soap

in the last month I have had 2 people tell me they cant use handmade soap cuz it will plug up their drains. I have explained that once the lye and oil mix it creates a chemical reaction called saponification and the lye is no longer lye and the oil is no longer oil--it is soap. is there...

    HP coloring advice

you could use an oil like safflower to make your soap whiter. and you can get micas at Micas and More--Nurture--or BrambleBerry--Mad Micas (these are only the ones I know of). if you want to go with natural coloring I would do an internet search on those (there is a lot of info out there on...

What soapy thing have you done today?

made my first 5# batch--plus it was GM. split it into 2 different molds with different colors and scents and gelled. Cut one and about to cut the other one. I actually had to use the heating pads on them. it was nice to get 2 batches done at once

    HP advice needed

I love when someone comes on asking where to find scents :) I always hear names of new companies :) . I like micas and get mine from either Nurture of Micas and More--I like I that I can get some of my scents while ordering micas. I use lard, coconut and safflower and I get them in the stores...

that's what I did too and it was so fun to watch the swirls come, I didn't make my batter super white though so swirling was weird to do. Very pretty soaps :) I am fond of confetti soaps and I really like yours

will let you know!! it would be nice to make for both as it is something that is pretty easy to whip up. I wonder how they will hold up at the summer markets though. I like the fact that the dollar store containers are see through cuz nobody here knows what a lotion bar is :) . I had a tester...

    Another Lotion Bar Thread

I used the round ones of these and only put 1.4 ounces in them so they were about 3/4 full (?) . I just started using these but when they harden just tip over and pop on the bottom and they come out. I agree with dibbles they are a good price. I have a market on Sat so I am curious as to how...
