    Solid Dish Detergent

I thought I might try Ariane's 2nd version with both SCI and SCS (seeing I have both) but with germail plus as a preservative and maybe D-Limonene if I can find it for less than $55. Ariane doesn't use preservative - do you think I should include it?

    Loving this pink mica!!!!!

Have you used sugar sprinkles? I tried using some little pastel colored sugar balls and they didn't like being there and they ran :( Your white ones look great against the pink.

    Alkeehole!

The lather test posted recently on the forum (somewhere??) - mentioned it brings bubbles/lather more so than sugar

    Alkeehole!

Did you use a divider for this and was it hard? It's a very pretty pink - what did you colour it with? I used some of my new banana fibre today for a 500g batch of singles. Looking forward to see if I can tell anything from it.

    Alkeehole!

It looks just like slice of beer - if that were possible. People were talking about this edging on another thread. One thought was overheating and the other was partial gel. It's cool how it's so neat around all edges - very clever of you!

    Fibre additives in CP

I finally tracked down a local (Australian) company with tussah silk. She had milk fibre, corn fibre, camel fibre (mixed with silk), pineapple fibre and other interesting fibres along with many (mainly sheep) animal varieties as expected. I have ordered a few of the top mentioned ones in small...

    Drying Cold Process Soap!

This is going to sound silly but I can't use any soaps on my face - I only wash my face in the shower with water and I still have to use moisturizing cream afterwards because my face feels tight and dry. I'm mid 60s and this has pretty much always been the case. I do like making soap and soapy...

    Hello from Alaska!

Hi from someone a LONG way away from you - I can't contemplate how you can survive the cold up there! It must be the most beautiful country, though.

Got carried away and look what happened!

Thanks KiwiSoap - I have a lot of soaps that are not shareable (except with family and friends). You may need a hacksaw to cut the bar in half ;)

They feel really nice and solid already except where the salt is a bit crumbly. Nice of you to call them red (which they were supposed to be). The Christmas fragrance is holding up well so far - bet if it had turned out red the fragrance would have gone. There's a lot of one step forward, two...

Got carried away and look what happened!

I love the black with confetti - is it yours KiwiMoose? Yes they are mica lines - I have to hope they don't split. I also did some gold in oil and drizzled but it seems to have disappeared. I didn't use much cause I thought the layers would just slip off each other!

Got carried away and look what happened!

Using soap dough - I think I used Nancy's Garden recipe with tallow - I coloured it 3 ways and wrapped it for a week or so. It wasn't that hard to make and it made a nice consistency that didn't need any cornflour to work it. I also had soapy bits which I had wrapped up as well and used.

    Finally commented.

Hello Beatrice Welcome from Australia - new soap maker here and very grateful for all the input from others who know what they are doing. I have bees and therefore have wax and honey but am yet to get to adding these to my soaps (and maybe other B&B products). So much to juggle physically and...
