Feeling discouraged- soap making is hard!

I really would recommend more like 500g as a batch size...when you go too small there is less room for error.

Help with bath bombs - do not smell strong enough

You also might want to try converting your recipe into percentages...this is far easier to work with. It looks like by your quantities that you only are at about 1% fragrance. I use about 2% in my bath bombs and the fragrance is very nice. I am surprised however that the 1% lavender isn't...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Rightly so they're going nuts! The time and effort! This is awesome!

    Tattoo ink for coloring soap

I wouldn't. There's too much unknown. Like what pigments are in the inks, what possible contaminants are in there, if adding NaOH to any of the pigments will cause a bad reaction. Dyes, lakes and natural colorants can fade, but most micas and mineral pigments will not. I would recommend those...

Soap becomes solid quickly when adding fragrance

I don't know the company you mentioned, but if it is the result that is coming up when I google it....it looks like perfume, not fragrance oil. Perfume will cause soap to seize because of the alcohol content.

How to remove the odour of frying doughnuts from oil

I don't know if this will help but I imagine it's like when you try to de-fat a chicken stock for example, you decant the oil from the top of the water phase... I wonder, if you could try freezing? The water should freeze and the sunflower oil should still be liquid. Edited to add, I don't know...

    Post your Gripe

I've been in a soaping rut for months now. I've made one loaf of CP this year...I think it's the least soap I've made in probably three and a half years since I started. I've made a couple of MP loaves...but I still feel like I'm not accomplishing anything (which is hard for me). There are...

New to forum - my soaps

That is the one I was looking at (the IFRA on their other one is so low)...haven't taken the plunge to purchase though. I've been let down by NG's bakery scents before, so it's a hard decision to make for me.

Lovely soaps! Is the first one a carrot cake soap?! I've been planning on doing one of those this year.

    Calendula & Chaga, diagonal layer

Excited to see the result! I get so flustered when someone "bothers me" when I'm soaping... I need complete and total concentration!
