Ugh! Blue colorants are so frustrating!

It sounds like you just aren't using enough. It can be a fine line between not enough and too much, but it can be learned over time to get the right amount. You can't necessarily tell the color that the soap will be by the color of the batter. Start by calculating using the recommended usage...

    Post your Gripe

Someone threw a smoothie at my car! Like WHO DOES THAT??! I was driving down the road, there was no one in front of me for a mile, all of a sudden when a car passes me on the other side I hear something hit my driver's side front (around the mirror). I was on autopilot, so it stunned me. I...

    Volume Conversion Table

Just a note: oz to grams is a weight conversion, fl oz cannot reliably be converted to grams unless you know the specific gravity or bulk density of the material you are measuring. Just like grams can't exactly be converted to fl oz without knowing this factor either.

Formulate recipe for hard or soft water?

It sounds like you plan for other people to use your soap since you want to put a disclaimer. If this is the case you would ideally want to have a soap that works in most if not all conditions. A google search also says that 85% of the USA uses hard water...so a chelator is your best bet.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made some liquid soap for the first time in over a year. Even had a volcano! So it was an exciting night. I was able to scoop the soap into a secondary container before any spilled on the counter, so all in all it wasn't so bad. I plan to do the dilution today.

    Glitter discoloration?

How long ago was this made? Could it be just a color morph that might go back?...although I've not personally seen purple to red before. Like KiwiMoose said it might just not be soap stable.

    Soap Growing & Cracks

I had a similar experience with a vinegar soap once...but I can't remember the other additive...I think there were just too many salts in the bar overall. https://www.soapmakingforum.com/threads/vinegar-and-citric-acid.78430/ Here it is, it was citric and vinegar...and the high solid oil soap...

    How to create white specks?

I know it wouldn't be throughout the soap, but I have seen people use a splatter technique on a cut bar with Titanium dioxide that looked very nice.

Lotion bar is crackly after 1 day

It's not the colorant, it's the butters. You are getting bloom from the butters. Depending on the environment, you may not be able to avoid this completely or at all. An additive like cera bellina might help but I didn't have much luck with it as eventually bloom started forming even with this...

    Max usage of fo/eo blend

WSP lists the IFRA levels on their fragrance descriptions. I always follow these guidelines as well. It doesn't seem like it sticks well in CP, so maybe you would be better trying it in MP or HP. Or make another product with this FO.
