What soapy thing have you done today?

Yes, indeed, thin blue line. I'm making these for a police spouse organization. The second one looks a lot more grey in person. No blue in the black. Blue mica for the blue and activated charcoal for the black. The lather is definitely grey. I love layers, but don't love doing them. They are...

What soapy thing have you done today?

The evolution of the TBL soap—first one on the left I made one batch and then separated the blue and black. I didn’t add the essential oil until I was ready to pour, but as you can see, the blue layer hadn’t set up enough when I poured the top black layer. 2nd batch I made 3 separate batches and...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Against my better judgement, I agreed to make more thin blue line soap for someone who wants to purchase 30 bars. I'm having such a hard time with the straight lines the way I am currently doing it, so I am going to try it differently this weekend. I'm going to make 3 totally separate batches...

    Is my nose crazy?

I feel like we are so inundated with artificial scents, I try only to buy unscented detergents, lotions, etc. I can't even stand to walk down the detergent aisle at the supermarket.

Is this soap base organic ??

Are you trying to find a melt and pour base with shea butter, or are you looking for just shea butter? I use Baraka. There are many different brands. If you are looking for a melt and pour base, you might get more answers in the melt and pour forum.

Is it Soda Ash? Unincorporated Coconut Milk Powder? or something else?

I leave my soap in the mold and totally covered for 36-48 hours and I gel all my soaps. It seems to have eliminated or minimized to almost negligible the amount of soda ash I get.

    Adding flowers

I like the way it looks on other peoples' fancy soaps, but I don't think in practice it's good to have "stuff" on top of your soap, and I don't do it myself.

How many different oils do you use in your soap?

I like to keep it simple, personally. I have 2 recipes that I generally use. One has 4 oils and the other has 5.

The guy at the end of the bar not doing so good

I totally get it. We have had 2 dogs for as long as I can remember, but since our dog died 2 years ago we have only had 1. My son has been begging for another dog, but I am not ready for that extra responsibility. We will probably get a rescue dog this summer.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Is it weird that I was inspired by my son's smoothie this morning? I put blueberries, plain yogurt and carrot-orange juice in a jar and before I blended it, the colors were amazing! (Not actual photo of smoothie, was not awake enough yet to take a photo!)

The guy at the end of the bar not doing so good

Oh Zing, I'm so sorry. 17 years is a good, long life, but it doesn't make it any easier. We had to put our dog down 2 years ago, and I literally wept for weeks (before and after.) Thinking of you and your family. @gww I feel like it is honoring those pets we have lost to adopt new ones and give...

Does anyone here have a separate facebook account for personal and for business?

I only have a very private personal FB page. I don’t use one for my business, but if I did I would have a totally separate page for my business. I don’t want strangers all over the internet to see my personal info or photos. I have a personal private IG profile and then a public IG business...

    Outside Your Back Door

Ok, not exactly my front or back door, but a cute little house in my town. Snow, snow and more snow (and wind) through the week.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Welp, I'm out of shea butter, cocoa butter, olive oil and down to my last few ounces of coconut oil. I've been trying to catch up! Making 2 batches today: honey oatmeal and rosemary mint. Made a new soap yesterday--orange basil with orange peel powder.

    Christmas 2021

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! 42” of snow here from Thursday through Saturday! But I live in a ski resort town, so we are all very happy about it! Roads were cleared and nobody missed a beat!

What soapy thing have you done today?

I did not take Zing's words as sarcastic at all.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Thank you! Yes, all natural except for that blue line, which is mica. The green is a combo of green sea clay and spirulina. It’s rosemary mint—one of my faves! Enjoy your holiday celebrations!

What soapy thing have you done today?

I’ve been doing lots of soapy stuff lately! Mostly restocking, but also some gift prep/giving too. My brother-in-law made me a bunch of bamboo soap dishes and I’m combining them with soap for gifts. He’s also going to make me a multi- bar soap cutter 😃

Another batch of CP soap accelerated

I use clove oil in several of my soaps, and I have not had a problem with seizing. I use a very small amount (whatever is recommended in EO Calc) and I usually use an EO that slows down trace with it. I add EOs at trace, not with the oils.
