    Soda ash inside loaf?

I’ve had uncolored soap do that before. I have no idea why. Yours is beautiful!

My family is getting tired of seeing my soaps on IG…

What is this "spare time" you speak of? (Oh, and your soaps are gorgeous :))

    Order/shipment conundrum

I ordered some essential oils from Sun Pure Botanicals on July 28th. When I hadn't heard anything after 2 weeks, I started emailing. I probably emailed 6 times and called asking what the status of the order was. No response. On August 27th I sent a final email saying that I had disputed the...

Clove equals Soap on a Stick

I have several recipes using clove oil and I haven't had trouble with tracing too quickly, especially when used in combination with orange EO, which slows down trace. Whenever I use an accelerating EO, I also use a decelerating one to counteract the effects. And I use a very small amount. Here...

Another "How many of you ... ?" questions.

Okay, so I decided to get out my peeler and try to just take a little bit off the sharper edges to see how I liked it. I'm a convert! I only did the sides, not the bottom, but I think I'm going to do that from now on! I've seen the light 😄

    A color for Sandalwood

I would do something in the orange/rust/brown palette. Turmeric or cocoa powder. Or both!

    Completely New

I'm irritated by many things, but not by discussions about anything soap related!! Welcome!

What soapy thing have you done today?

Ok, I may have freaked out prematurely. My candy corn blob swirl actually looks pretty good!

    Masculine Fall Scent

I kinda thought that too, but then above Zing said he did a 50/50 cedarwood/bergamot blend, so I thought I'd try it. I just used a small amount of clove, and also used orange, which I find slows down trace. Usually when I use them together they cancel each other out.

    Masculine Fall Scent

    I did run it through. I did 40% cedarwood, 20% orange, 20% bergamot, 10% clove, 10% ginger

    Masculine Fall Scent

I just did a cedarwood/bergamot/orange/clove blend. I may have used too much cedarwood? That's all I can currently smell.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Well I just had a total freaking disaster and of course it was with a double batch o_O I was trying to do a drop/hanger swirl and my brown was supposed to be a very dark brown, but it was like milk chocolate brown, so I tried to add more cocoa powder, and in the meantime the other 2 colors...

Another "How many of you ... ?" questions.

I buff all my bars with microfiber so they are nice and smooth. Just no beveling or planing.

Another "How many of you ... ?" questions.

I love the way beveled soap looks, but I also like the "rustic" look of non-beveled soap. I'm all about the rustic, natural type soap, and I don't think beveling fits in with that aesthetic.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I got a couple of kind of swirls out of it

What soapy thing have you done today?

Well, my swirl was a flop! More of a blob!

What soapy thing have you done today?

Trying to ramp up production for holiday gifts! I made fall spice and coffee soaps on Monday, then I attempted a fancy swirl with my matcha coconut milk soap last night. It's still all tucked in, so I'll keep you posted when I cut it 🤞🤞🤞 I am going to attempt a thin blue line soap (husband is a...

Entry Thread for the SMF August 2021 Challenge - Ombre Designs

Congrats to the winners and all the entries! This was a stretch for me, as I am really not artistic and mostly do simple soaps—but very fun and I’m glad I participated!
