    Kaolin Clay Recipe Help!

I usually put one teaspoon PPO in all my soaps. Usually mix it in my FO. But if I don’t want it to affect the color of the soap I begrudgingly leave it out. I can tell the difference! But I do love kaolin clay! You put what I usually do in my soaps… if I did my math correctly!?!? Your oil weight...

    My Fellow Larders

I use lard at 50% too… and have not used Palm that I can remember. Well a wee bit of red Palm in liquid soap now that I think about it! I really like my soap. 😍😌

What soapy thing have you done today?

I just figured out why I’ve become so obsessed with these sunrise colors: my work computer background: 🤦‍♀️ 😳

What soapy thing have you done today?

It worked out fine… just heated up a bit initially. The bars seem to be their norm at un-molding and cutting. Next time I might try the dissolved solution in with my lye next time and let it cool down per usual. Thanks! Love my dragonfly! They are such beautiful creatures! And they swarm our...

What soapy thing have you done today?

When I was washing and putting away my soap dishes, I realized I grabbed the 1/2 teaspoon instead of the teaspoon to measure my mica. So I accidentally put in way less mica than I was supposed to 😳 so not colorful as I wanted, but still pretty and smells wonderful! I kinda have a love/hate...

    Bastile comedogenic or not?

My latest liquid soap I use for dishes is 90% CO and 10% red Palm just for color. But it’s the best soap ever! Cleans everything well & my hands are so soft after! But for my bars, my skin just loves the high content lard.. also use CO and OO at 20%….still clean and breakout free, but also soft...

    Bastile comedogenic or not?

I wasn’t trying to be harsh and only very interested & curious in the soap company itself. And the quote was from the company’s website home page…. So no not worth the dispute… my bad.

    Bastile comedogenic or not?

Well actually... His family were soap makers for generations before he was born, but from the website: "Dr. Bronner’s was founded in 1948 by Emanuel Bronner, a third- generation master soapmaker from a German-Jewish soapmaking family. He used the labels on his superb ecological soaps to spread...

    A Few Soaps

I keep coming back to admire the soaps and have decided the lavender are my most favorite soap EVER! I do love the swirl. They are all beautiful, but the lavender just keeps winking at me. 😉😍🥰

    Kaolin Clay Recipe Help!

Any clay absorbs water when added to soap, which is why some pre-dispersed with a wee bit of water. Also, 1 tablespoon PPO as recommended above is 1 tablespoon per pound of oil (just the weight of the oils in you recipe). If 55oz is your oil weight... Per pound of oil ... 55oz divided by 16...

Glass and lye; truth or myth?

Mrs Soap & Clay! Lol… it took me a few tries to get through my first video of hers. I think she uses shock & awe to attract people to her videos. I have Pyrex I use for non soap stuff. I used to heat oils in my big Pyrex. But honestly I’ve stopped using them at all because they are just too...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Nope, it was one of the first soaps I made. No FO or EO. That was my first mistake! I would try it again with fragrance but I just can’t… lol! It’s scarred me for life!

What soapy thing have you done today?

Do you line your squeeze bottles? I always use a funnel for my pull throughs, but want to try with squeeze bottles. But honestly, I always hate using them because they are a pain to clean. Plus I need to get some of the heavy duty wide mouth ones…

Sharing soap at work - your thoughts

JUST AN FYI... I do find myself getting angry when I see co-workers are not taking care of my bars like I would at home. When I go to wash my hands and find the bar in a puddle of water and not on the soap saver I brought in, I make sure I wash my hands a bit longer and count to 10 a few times...

Sharing soap at work - your thoughts

I take all my soap ends and what not to work for give away before I donate. And I also bring bar soap in for me to use in employee bathroom and most co-workers let me know when its time to bring in more.
