deep fryer oil for soap making

I am planning to make HP liquid oil and use it for washing dishes. It will be used quickly, so I don't really worry about DOC, bacterial growth, or how it will smell. My concern is more about PH of the final product and how well it will clean. I will search threads, thanks for pointing it out...

deep fryer oil for soap making

Just did some deep fried food yesterday, and ended up with about 300 ml of used grapeseed oil. Normally I end up putting it in the trash, we don't have oil recycling here, at least I don't know of one. So I am thinking about using it to make HP soap for washing dishes. Have anyone done it...

    Coffee in DIY lotion

Did a quick google search. Looks like to emulsify beeswax with water - you will need to mix water with borax first, and then heat it with beeswax. Not something I would want to put on my skin. Back to drinking coffee and smothering myself with oils:rolleyes:

    Coffee in DIY lotion

Will coffee mix with bee wax? Or are you going to use some type of additives to dissolve it? I want to know too, would be nice to get some caffeine topically since intravenously it is not an option, and orally is never enough;)

    Rendering deer tallow

I don't freeze my fats. It is in the fridge in a plastic bin. Beef tallow is hard and the shelf life at the room temp is at least 1 year, in the fridge it can stay wat longer. I keep mine in the plastic box, easier to just cut a piece whenever I need it and put the rest back. If you freeze it -...

    Rendering deer tallow

I never rendered deer tallow. But here is how I render my beef tallow. I put the fat in the slow cooker, add couple cups of water, couple handful of salt and put on high. Stir it from time to time. Takes about 4-5 hours depending on how big the pieces of fat are. Once everything is rendered, I...

    My Creamy Cocoa/Shea GLS Tutorial

Today I have finished diluting the Creamy Coco-Shea GLS. Thanks, Irish Lass. Turned out great, exactly like on the pics. I followed the tutorial for easy KOH dilution with water. Got "flying bubbles" after 15 minutes of blending, but since it wasn't time to stop according to the tutorial, I kept...

Wanted to ask the same question. Just finished thickening my liquid soap and this idea popped in my head. I am sure someone on the forum already tried it. Any success? If not - I have to try it.
