    New HDPE divider mold

No worries, I'll try to explain. The mold is 2.25" x 3" x 3." I only fill it 1/3 full because my bars are 1" thick. But some large outfit soapmakers could fill it completely full if they have a way to make 2 or 3 slabs out of that. I don't remember where but I saw a video doing that. So you can...

WOW! What Do You Think Of This Mold?

When I said no lining necessary on my HDPE molds, I was thinking of each individual section. I do have a silicone liner on the bottom.

WOW! What Do You Think Of This Mold?

It looks lovely. I will repost my offer of some years ago. I have 3 HDPE molds now with dividers. No need to line or cut bars. Only want to get rid of one. Make an offer! https://www.soapmakingforum.com/threads/new-price-on-hdpe-mold.76250/

    Which logo?

Wait a minute. Now I'm confused. I was going by 1, 2, 3, the order in which the photos were placed. Now I see on the photos logo 2, logo 3 and logo 4. How do we vote here?

What do you do then with the scrapings? Are they like the trimmings of CP, you can make confetti soap?

Natural Colorants - Comfrey Leaves (Green)

Anyone who plants comfrey , beware! You will have it all over the place and their roots go very deep...hard to dig out. Lovely green soap @zany! I wonder how quickly it will fade. To get that color you must have infused fresh leaves?

    Zingiberaceae

I make an orange cinnamon soap, it does survive the lye, it is mild and wonderful but does not sell as fast as others which contributes to an even milder smell. I just sold the last of what I made a year ago and it still smelled nice.

It's not all that it's cracked up to be.

Oh so true. I found that being "out there" at markets and such is when you really move product and build your repeat customers.

It's not all that it's cracked up to be.

What a challenge. I feel for you without any judgment. I think you show strength in character to step back and give such an honest evaluation of your situation. Perhaps too much too fast. It takes time to build a business. Perhaps take a job in something you are passionate about and do soap as a...

    A Painful Task

Yes I have had patchouli go bad too, but not quickly. You're right, lavender is the worst offender.

    A Painful Task

Any soap with peppermint or lavender essential oil in it, I have to use ROE as those soaps will be rancid in 4 months or so. I second the idea of @TheGecko

Advice on getting rid of that "squeaky clean" feeling?

Assuming you do have the water softener for "dishwashing and so forth" it wouldn't build up mineral. Our re-mineralized water is not hard enough to build up on the drinking/cooking water faucet. But we have left the topic of this post.

Advice on getting rid of that "squeaky clean" feeling?

Exactly. I wouldn't want to drink softened water though. We have a separate R.O. system with a remineralizing cartridge. Our bodies need minerals.

Advice on getting rid of that "squeaky clean" feeling?

I wholeheartedly second the suggestion of a whole house water softener. What a difference on the skin! And the feel of the soap. Also for that smooth creamy feel, add 2 teaspoons sugar ppo and a starch. I use colloidal oatmeal. Others use rice or potato water. Makes a lovely smooth and rich feel.
