So I had a weird market weekend.

I commiserate. Hope we all get to have great neighbours, both at home and at markets. I once had a lady who came and started going on about how great her religion was. First pretended to be interested in my soap, then got going. My neighbour, a lovely candle maker took pity on me and came over...

Sorbitol in liquid form - how much to use ?

Thank you AliOop. I found out, it’s 70% so I’ll need to calculate. Mine is 15% co; 5 each of PKO and castor. So maybe I’ll try 2% of total oil weight and see how it goes, or I’ll calculate. Just too busy atm to do the math offhand. Thank you so much for your advice.

Sorbitol in liquid form - how much to use ?

Thank you so much both of you. @ AliOop, the concentration is not available online, I'll need to call the supplier. Thank you so much for your information. It appears that some have used 5% of total oil weight, as per link shared by Isg - no concentration specified.

Hi all you kind caring sharing people, Just appreciate your kindness souch , and have learnt a ton from this thread alone! The spots appear to have disappeared or rather faded on some of the soaps after I steamed and dried them. Some still have spots so I haven't packed the purples at all. I...

How to get solid oil out of container

I wait for hot summer days. The cocoa butter (25kg packed ina thick blue plastic bag in a box), I chip at using my extra large, heavy Wusthof knife. Use a rubber mallet to bang the knife , it breaks it down quickly. Then I pack the small chunks into buckets, wearing gloves. (First for hygienic...

Gifted soaps. Are they being used?

You know, the same can be said for any other gift. You have no certainty that the recepient will use the gift. Gifts are either loved & used; loved & not used; hated & thrown out; hated and put at the back of the cupboard for the heirs to discover and dispose of; re-gifted etc. Sometimes...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Thank you so much for your tips @ Earlene. I have collected my soapy things, and hubby is shocked at the weight. I fear they are not going to fit into a cooler bag. I always carry a large cooler bag and some ice packs as I love shopping at the grocery stores here, and buy fruit and vegetables...
