I designed and put together a LGCH (Lard Grease Cake Handle). It enables one to lift out the "grease cake" out of the pot to change the rendering water. I will add a picture as soon as I can get "the photographer" out of the kitchen.
I also did an in depth study on water and CP soap making!
I have ben doing a fare amount of reading Having to do with the CP method of soap making and also about stick blenders.
I wondered if any members use a conventional blender like the one in the link below and what speed and method etc.?

One last question about table salt. Do I add it to my LYE/H2O mix, to the melted lard or to the total soap mix while it is still around 120*? I know that the salt needs to be able to dissolve in a warm liquid. I will making my next batch not long after breakfast.
I just got home from purchasing a blender and I am about to make my fourth batch. My question is when it gets to the trace stage should I get the soap mix out of the bowl and right in to the molds? The first three batches I remember stirring for another minute. Should I go ahead and get it...

Distilled water. I guess that I'm going to have to get my old pressure cooker and some copper tube out of the shed and distill me some water. I pay about $25- a month for 2500 gallons. I won't be buying any at W-mart when I pay a penny a gallon!
