    Coronavirus

@Elizevt I am so extremely sorry for your loss!! How selfish of that person for bringing a virus into the workplace that cost your sister her life, and for all of you, her loss. He is going to have to live with that horrible decision for the rest of his life and I hope he remembers her every...

Finally back making soaps after the Passing of my companion..

My sincerest condolences on your loss. It is so unfair that their lives are not as long as our own as they leave such a hole in the heart when they are gone! ps your soaps are beautiful!!

    Salt bar questions

I am thinking I might have to make a few different batches using all these suggestions and then see which ones work best for us. Thanks everyone for their help!

    Salt bar questions

Nice! I am glad that you are doing well. Not the easiest year to have a business. I figure I may as well commit to a batch anyhow and see how it goes. From the sounds of what everything everyone says about them, I think I should like them as well.

    Salt bar questions

Maybe I will try 50% then? I really mostly want it for the men, but it would be nice ot use it myself if it won't give me alligator skin. Time is flying by anyhow, so a year or more cure is no biggie for us. I had plans of coming to buy one from you during your July 12th sale to try it out...

    Salt bar questions

yes, I have plain sea salt to use. I will try the 35% salt and see how it goes. Thank you! Maybe I will try somewhere between you and Obsidian and do a 40% sea salt. I have no problem with a minimum 1 year cure, so that isn't a problem at all. Do you do a 100% coconut milk swap for the...

    Salt bar questions

I have yet to make a salt bar, but I want to do it soon. I have no problem with allowing it to cure a year (or more) as I have MANY bars of soap to use until then. Does the formula for salt bars change depending on skin type, or is a sort of one size fits all type of thing? I am...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I think it may have gotten a little hot in the oven. Looks to me like a silicone rash/bubbles. I have had that happen before as well.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I agree, but I was looking at this as practice rather than thinking it would be my actual entry so I opted to make up a recipe that incorporated some of the oils I want to start using up. I saw it as a "killing two birds with one stone" kind of thing. What I did determine though is, I love the...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I decided to do a practice run of this months soap challenge technique. I opted to use natural colorants....charcoal, chlorella, cacao and just left a portion natural and I also swapped out coconut water for the water. I used a combo of oils that I wanted to start using up before they get old...

SMF August 2020 Challenge - Zig Zag Cosmic Wave Technique

I am finding myself more drawn to brighter colours as well. Last week I decided to order a bunch of new micas and some neons as well, as I wanted something with a little more "oomph" for the challenge. But now I wait. By the looks of where they are at for shipping orders, I might not even...

    First Pull Through

I love the variation with the pull through technique. I absolutely see butterflies in this batch. The body...the wings....dead on! Love them and I would be so happy with the result!

    Honey Avocado Soap

I love it! Did your last batch retain the green color without going brown? My skin gets so dry in winter that I think I may want to try to make a batch with some avocado in it just to see how it compares to the other soaps i make for my winter use. Thank you for the inspiration!

The Guy At The End Of The Bar...

The one guy (actually girl) at the other end of the bar is playing the role of bouncer and staring out the front window waiting to pick a fight with any stranger that may try to enter the bar uninvited. Another guy is passed out and snoring at my feet while the other two are on...

Extra sweaty neem oil soap - not sweat!

Last week my cat peed on the potatoes I had put on my counter after I pulled them from the garden. So they went into the garbage sadly. Darn cats!! They are lucky that they are cute! Sorry about your soap and I hope it is salvageable.
