    First batch smells glorious

I made the same mistake by not lining a PVC pipe for my first batch of soap. I left it in the freezer for hours and still couldn't get it out. I think my hubby had to cut that batch out of the pipe. Lesson learned! @Jemima what fragrance did you use?

    I was Infuriated today

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about lotion making, but the idea of magnesium as the first indigent would make me very wary to purchase said lotion.

SMF November 2019 Challenge ENTRY thread - Spin Swirl

I made a much smaller batch than I usually do because I was trying out a new FO. Unfortunately I feel like my colors are muted. I've done a spin swirl in the past and really enjoy the technique. The FO is Fairy Dust and the colorants are Black Gold mica, Egyptian Blue mica and Jade mica.

Poor lady is very ill - her story.

I went to a yarn swap a few months ago. Many people were there with the hopes of leaving with less than they arrived with. Not me! My plan was to swap for things I might actually use. Including the 15ish skeins of bulky yarn I might make into a blanket. Or matching sweaters for the whole family.

    What did YOU do today?

Went to a swap meet, unloaded 3 bags of clothes our boys have outgrown. Met up with a friend and had a play-date, where we tried to teach the boys to fly kites. Now we're back at home, warming up, whilst the hubby gets dinner ready.

    Tag line?

@atiz Thanks! I'm married to an archaeologist. Lol!

    Tag line?

I'm working on making a website now and I'm on the fence about coming up with a tag line. I don't know if it's really necessary. Do you have a tag line? The business name is **** Soapien and my hubby suggested "Evolve Your Clean" which I almost immediately nixed because I don't do anything...

    End of year prep

@TheGecko - Good suggestions and advice. I file taxes quarterly and am a bit lax now. But when I start selling, I will need to be much better organized. I had an excel spreadsheet with all of my ingredients, date purchased, distributor, cost per gram, etc, etc in my computer, plus another...

    Castile Slime

I haven't made Castile but it is on my to-do list. After doing some reading on the subject, I'm still left wondering if the slimy-ness decreases with a long cure? Does it still feel slimy after a year cure? Or is that just the nature of Castile?

    Browsing soap pics

This popped up on my Instagram the other day. Amazing!

    Option paralysis!

There are several soapers here (myself included) who don't use palm oil or tallow. Some of us substitute with butters and others use soy wax. I briefly tried rapeseed wax but found it not to my liking. I think I was using it a too high of a percentage and might give it another go at a lower...

    Make and take?

I knew I could count on all of you for great ideas!

    Make and take?

I will be a vendor at a craft fair next month and the organizer has suggested, if we want, to have a small make and take at our table and we can charge a small fee. I'm struggling to come up with ideas. Most of the things I'm thinking of require melting oils (lip balms, solid lotion bar) and I...

    Post your Gripe

@Dawni Thanks. My mom is at home and seems to be doing just fine. The official diagnosis was... she passed out, reasons unknown, possibly due to a small piece of plaque breaking off from an artery and briefly blocking the blood flow.
