    Amigurumi

I tried knitting and crocheting, but it wasn’t until I discovered Tunisian crochet that I fell in love. I haven’t stopped making washcloths for the past month. I think amigurumi is beyond me, but that horse and dragon are tempting!! So cute!

What do you think of this logo?

So cute! I like the rectangular one best, for the same reasons as @KiwiMoose. Love that pink for the word bayou and the other bubbles!

Thank you! I’ll give this a try.

    Best alternative to goat's milk?

Thank you Pepsi Girl. So the water used to reconstitute the powder is counted towards the liquid required for the formula, correct?

    Best alternative to goat's milk?

I use fresh goat’s milk at $6.25 per quart but am considering going to store bought or GM powder to save on costs. My question is….how do you use GM powder??

    Spearmint EO experiences

Does anyone know why the usage rates for spearmint dropped, or have a link to the studies the IFRA used to determine that spearmint is somehow dangerous now?

What soapy thing have you done today?

Thank you for the advice! I was a little nervous to soap hotter as I always soap cool and I wasn’t sure how it would react. Next time will definitely take a walk on the hot side! Thank you! I love the smooth edges of that mold.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made a test batch of Zany’s No Slime Castille and I’m in love! 😍 It was 15 oz Olive Oil (light), 4 oz faux sea water, 2 oz lye and scented with an eo blend of cedarwood, 5 fold orange and benzoin. I soaped with oil at 100 degrees and lye at about 90 degrees. It took less than 5 minutes for it...

Would you do it? Use more of a particular EO than is recommended? Any other recommendations?

Honestly, I sometimes question the IFRA usage rates, just like I question pretty much everything. “Who are they and why do they get to make the rules” types of questions. Still doing my own research on the IFRA. Having said that, I won’t go outside the recommended usage rates in soap meant for...

What are your top 3 EO to use in soap?!

Yes I do. I’ve blended it with rose, lavender, and peppermint. My favorite is patchouli with peppermint and spearmint.

What are your top 3 EO to use in soap?!

Patchouli Lavender Cedarwood *Peppermint I know you only asked for three, but those are my top four. Also, Zing’s blend above is ah-mazing!! As in, ‘can’t stop huffing this bar of soap’ amazing!

    Anchor or Pyrex?

That was super-interesting, thanks for sharing! So it seems from her experiments that generally upper-case PYREX is made from borosilicate, while lower-case Pyrex is not? Over 50 here with some brain issues to boot so I may have missed something.

    Himalayan Rhubarb

Just gorgeous! I love Himalayan rhubarb! I made a soap for my granddaughter and it turned out the most beautiful dark pink. I was hoping for red, but thankfully she loved the pink.

What were you gifted or got for yourself over the holidays (for soaping or bath&body)?

My husband gave me Robert Tisserand’s Essential Oil Safety book! I’m so excited!

    Citrus woody scents

I usually do the same as @Nona'sFarm, except with q-tips instead of toothpicks. Occasionally I’ll use small bottles to blend but not very often. Once I have the blend where I want it, I figure out the formula in percentages or ratios so I can scale it up.
