Do I pare down the sharp soap edges?

I don’t bevel any of my soap (unless it’s for my sister, whom I adore). Like someone else said, those edges are gone after a couple of uses anyway and I have way better things to do with my time.

New soaper in need of encouragement... and advice. Thanks in advance!

Just came to say your soaps are lovely! I superfat at 6% and have never experienced DOS ( knocking on all the wood in the house now!).

Thank you @Mobjack Bay, this is fabulous information!

What soapy thing have you done today?

Yesterday, I did my first market in 15 years! Long story short: owned a soap biz, husband died unexpectedly, closed soap biz, went to school and became an RN, married my high school sweetheart, moved to California, moved back to Virginia, opened new soap biz. Anyhoo, the market was a very...

Sun Pure Botanicals - Not a Happy Camper

I ordered a few EOs from them last year. They were delivered in a timely manner and smelled like they should. The only one I didn’t care for was the lavender as it had a strange citrus-y note to it. In all fairness though, my husband liked it.

    Hello from Central VA

Oh bummer 😞. I don’t have any others planned at this time but I’ll let you know if that changes.

    Hello from Central VA

Welcome! I’m in Central Virginia too, and make goat’s milk CP soap! I’ll be at the May Faire market coming up on May 4th at The Backyard in Forest. Stop by my tent and say hi if you’re there.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Trying out new silicone molds for an upcoming market (some have organic rose and calendula petals that I put in the bottom before pouring), and a pic of my ‘soap on a stick’ that didn’t leave me time to fully incorporate the charcoal and that I had to cram into the mold. EO blend was Black Rose...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Gorgeous green! I used spirulina once and loved the color, but I think I used too much, as the odor lasted forever! Anyway, for natural colorants I really like alkanet, madder root and annatto seed. I also use clays.

    Goat tallow and goat milk

Beautiful soap! 😍 I soap with GM as 50% of my liquid all the time. I use it straight out of the fridge and even when the oils are hotter I rarely have a problem. I do usually soap at about 90-100* but I also don’t use tallow, yet….

    Question about alkanet root powder..

Thank you! I did put the mold in the freezer for a bit and the soap with the chamomile on top did calm down and most of the cracking resolves. The other mold with the cross-cross pattern also settled down, just not as much. I think I’ll probably cut that loaf lengthwise and use them as half bars...

    Question about alkanet root powder..

I know this is kind of an old thread, but didn’t want to muddy the forum with another alkanet question thread. I made soap today using alkanet powder infused in organic HO sunflower oil for 6 weeks. I used the same formula I’ve been using for 17 years, so besides the alkanet, no changes there...

    Dental Implants :-(

I had my implants placed in the late 90s by a USAF surgeon, so did not have to pay for them. The entire process took over two years and was extremely painful, involving 2 bone grafts, a pierced sinus cavity, severe sinus infections and 3 gum grafts. The gum grafts were unsuccessful so you can...

What scents blend well with patchouli?

As Relle already stated, this is a really old thread. As a patchouli lover I’m wondering who recommended that it not be used on its own in soap? Straight patch is awesome on its own!
