I got an order from a customer for candles scented with bay (leaf) oil (laurus nobilis). Is there a site that gives recommended amount to use for candles; safety and scent throw? I use coconut wax, but any general eo calculator for candles would be great!

I have heard elsewhere that rice bran is cheaper than olive oil. I cannot find it locally anywhere in New Mexico. Where do other Americans buy it? Also, I looked around grocery stores and even specialty stores in Albuquerque and not find any kind of HO vegetable oils. Would love recommendations...

I had always thought that olive oil is what made a soap milder and less drying... interesting to hear the different experiences. Does sunflower oil have a shorter shelf life than OO, though? I also like rice bran oil, which some sources say is cheaper than olive oil, but I can't find it to buy...

I've noticed a number of posts here with recipes that sub out olive oil for rice bran oil or other liquid oils. What are the reasons for those of you who don't use olive oil in their CP recipes? Thanks!
