How do you choose your color palettes?

I like what’s on the other of the cards though. It has helped me pair colors that I wouldn’t have thought would look good together.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I used brown oxide and walnut shell powder for the sand. I was able to use a spoon and make bumps. I didn’t use enough soap for the sand but I went with the flow. I had premixed some neon blue and TD a few weeks back and decided to use those as the sea colors. I did a one pot swirl with them to...

    How much activated charcoal

    I just love that black!

Did I mix at too hot of a temperature?

110 isn’t bad. Maybe try room temperature. I’ve never soaped with a ovc mold so I don’t know how insulating they are.

    Help with soap moulding

I don’t use EO’s unless they are in a fragrance oil so I really don’t know. Soaps with milk and honey may do better uncovered or with not a lot of insulation but that totally depends on the amount in the recipe. When I did use coconut milk I insulated some of my soaps and if I noticed it...

    Help with soap moulding

@soapstarter 1. Any soap can be left out without towels or blankets. If a soap or EO/FO is prone to overheating it would be better to not insulate. 2. If you are trying to get full gel then covering with towels or doing CPOP can be a good idea. 3. If you are trying to avoid gel you can use...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I got all my fragrance oils in today. They all smell so dang good! There are only two I’m not a fan of. I’m going to use my color wheel cards and start writing down colors for each one.

    Sizes

Maybe the 6qt will work? Idk it depends on how tall it is. Making a mold that can hold 1-2lb of oils is a good start.

palm oil making soap very gritty

I’ve always heated my oils until they were clear. I have never had gritty soap either.

Shea Butter Making Soap Feel 'Gritty'?

You make sure to melt the palm oil and give it a good stir to blend it. In my 1 gal buckets I will place them in hot water to melt them and stir until it looks blended up.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I love some of the ones from Wild Plantanica, but I don’t know how the soaps will look. I need pictures of finished product. Yup. Did they perhaps send the wrong size?

    1.7:1 ratio

I’m sorry. I don’t understand. What is the ratio for? Is it for lye water?

What soapy thing have you done today?

Mine are acrylic and they fit my Custom Craft Tools mold perfectly. That’s strange they don’t fit yours.

How much to superfat? - need suggestions please

That is a very drying recipe. 10% super fat may not help as the conditioning value is kinda low too. If you are not wanting something drying I would increase conditioning properties and decrease cleansing value. You can try it at 10% super fat and see.

Is this soda ash and what causes it?

It looks like soda ash. It is purely cosmetic. To reduce the amount you can gel the soap or cover it with plastic wrap until it’s ready to be cut.

    Why use distilled water?

I buy it from the store.

What soapy thing have you done today?

My color wheel cards came in today and I am so happy I got them. Now I can come up with new color schemes for my soap. My fragrance oils from WSP also came. They all smell wonderful.

How do you choose your color palettes?

Amazon. $27. I need something to point blank tell me what colors look good together and after looking at color wheels I got very confused.
