What soapy thing have you done today?

Stain Stixs and lip balms are on the list for today. Along with that is working on the feathers for a friend's Indigenous regalia. Couple this with my Lenten Chemo Cap knitting and I have a full day in my craft area.

    The Great "Lotion" Bar Experiment

I have found that "less is more" with LBs. I also work with fibers and want a bar that is firm, but will slide well Up the Beeswax to counter the grease factor and use 2 to 3 oils/butters. Maybe use 97 degree Coconut oil, rather than the more common 76 degree. Melt factors are a user's choice.

    Multi bar soap cutters

I will test and evaluate the Hercules Cutter. I do a lot of "test batches" so it will get a work out. Once I settle on what I want, then I will be here to find the best Multi Bar for me. Like rubber scraper/spatulas, you need a certain one a certain use.

OK, Doing a "search" yielded no results. There was a Thread where we gave opinions on multi bar soap cutters. I am interested in a Hercules cutter, but a google search does not give me what I want. Does anyone have a link to share?

ACV as liquid for lye solution

OK, brain storm in progress. My shampoo bars are soap, not Signet. What would happen if I subbed ACV for water in my lye solution? I am going to try this in a small batch (2 bars) to see if the ph is nearer to hair than skin. Thoughts anyone?

Dawn will strip all the lanolin from the wool. There is a reason they use it to clean up the animals impacted by oil spills.

Working on Stain Removal soap bar

I use a homemade laundry soap that uses 1 Fels Naphtha bar, washing soda and borax. My washing machine repairman looked into the guts of my front loader and found no greasy **** inside. I think you get that problem with very hard water, or just using too much soap. For those making their own...
