    Insurance

Thanks for the responses. Honestly I get overwhelmed with all the legal jargon when it comes to business. When donating soap, are you still liable for it? Can someone still sue if you didn't sell it to them? I think on one of alioops posts she said that even if you had product liability...

    Insurance

From what I have been reading, it seems like the best thing to do instead of getting an LLC is to do a DBA and get a good insurance. Correct me if I am wrong on that. I'd like to start selling my excess soap, I really don't want to deal with the hassle or price of a LLC. Can anyone recommened...

    Mobjack Bay 2024

You have convinced me to buy a split cup. I've had one in my amazon cart for a few months now but I'm sold. What's the consistency of the batter for the pull throughs?

    Watercolor

It was interesting seeing how it turned out. Probably would take smaller spoonfuls. The Bali Breeze is like a tropical floral smell.

    Watercolor

I followed I dream in soaps watercolor technique video. Used Mad micas sexy stranger on a train, voodoo, tangerine dream with a smidgen of brazen hussy, lettuce entertainment you and smidgen of radioactive, nutures soap winter white. The FO is BB's Bali Breeze. Had fun doing this one but was a...

Making Minecraft-based soap: help with colorants

You could try using pigments instead of mica so there is less of a sheen and perhaps you could prevent gelling yo get more of a matte look. Only thing to watch out for without gelling could be potential stearic spots. Love the minecraft theme. Would love enderman ones too. Or a tall and skinny...

    Comparing 3 batches

They all look really similar. What do you think of the fragrance oil? I love pear scents. I haven't purchased one thinking it may not stick. How is the staying power on the FO?

    Seventh Batch

The color palette is great and I'm a sucker for the crinkle cutter. I want to get one eventually.

    Terrazzo Soap

I love how this turned out! And the FO is 5 stars. Been wanting to try it out for years. This was a two day process for me. I split my recipe in half and did a hanger swirl with a chopstick. It was scented with Bramble Berry's Morrocan Mint Tea. The colorants used were from mad micas and...

    Dried fruit

Do you have a picture handy of what it looks like in the finished soap?

    Dried fruit

I haven't personally done that but I would be concerned about it turning brown potentially or even molding. What were you hoping to achieve by adding it? Color? Exfoliant?

    Soap Dipping

These are so beautiful. Adding another technique I'm going to have to try.

    Washing tips?

Usually what I do as I am using up containers I will rinse it with hot water with my sink sprayer to get the majority off. Then spray it with dawn powerwash and let it sit until everything is in the mould and in the oven cpop. Then fill up the other sink with some water to rinse off the soap...

    Curing Soap

I don't know if there is a market out there but the soaps that have long cures usually have a great texture to the lather. I have some olive oil bars that are 5 years old now but no fragrance anymore and the color has faded. No dos.

    3rd Attempt at an ombre

Thanks everyone for the kind words. When I first started I was focusing on trying every technique and bigger batches but this time I'm working on trying to perfect it. I've been doing small batches (6 inch long batches, 35 oz) so I can experiment more. Love how this turned out and the FO is...
