    Glossy Label Inkjet Printer question

@amd - this helps clarify things a lot, thanks for posting this. That is what I have been doing thus far. In fact, to print on a glossy media, you can't really use the black pigment ink that is in the black cartridge. The printer has to make a black by mixing colors in the color cartridge. I...

    Glossy Label Inkjet Printer question

The support agent from online labels said the same thing. I can't help but wonder, what if someone wants to print other lighter colors like yellow, orange, pink, light gray etc. on black labels? It just seems weird that there are labels in almost all colors except black, with the "few printers...

    Glossy Label Inkjet Printer question

@DeeAnna - yes these labels are meant to be used with inkjet printers only. I found the solution to this issue. Apparently, the black ink from a regular "black cartridge" does not work well with glossy media. One has to choose, "glossy paper" in the print media before printing. The printer...

    Glossy Label Inkjet Printer question

Hey everybody, So I ordered some samples from Online Labels (matte and glossy) to try with my HP Inkjet printer. After a few tries, I got a good print on my matte labels. I tried the same with glossy labels and they came out very clear and the labels look really nice. BUT, I noticed that the...

    Men's shaving soap EO blends

Interesting perspective @gloopygloop . I might try some good quality FOs as well. I do agree some EOs smell like "medicine", the blood orange EO that I have kinda smells like Nyquil to my nose sometimes.

    Label weight question

I had the same question, this helped clarify things quite a bit. My shaving soap weighs 6.2 oz. after a 2 week cure(hot process), I guess I am going to go with 5.8 oz on the label.

    Men's shaving soap EO blends

@sirtim100 - I have been busy finalizing my labels past couple of weeks so have not had the chance to make soap at all. A couple of updates on the EO blend side though: 1) The blood orange and cedarwood blend that I hated up until last week is starting to catch up to me. It seems like the...

    What did YOU do today?

    1) Worked on my labels today. 2) Placed orders for plastic jars, bottles etc. from a couple of vendors to try out. 3) Ordered inkjet label samples from onlinelabels.com 4) Now just sipping on some Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon.

Help with Protecting My Work Area

Definitely drape or cover granite and other surface areas. I have a table cover type thingy that I bought at the local dollar store, I cover my kitchen island before making a batch. Works pretty well.

    Warnings on shaving soap labels

Thank you @DeeAnna. My wife often tells me that I am very black and white and that might be contributing to, as you perceive it "over thinking" and "wanting iron clad promises". I would definitely like to err on the side of caution. There are too many artisan shaving soaps on Etsy and some...

    Warnings on shaving soap labels

Sorry about including the image, I thought the image would be more useful plus I am total rookie at trying to make sense of Pubmed. I am a Computer Science major with a Physics minor, Chemistry has not been my forte. Here are some links on Sodium Stearate, I am unable to make a conclusion...

    Warnings on shaving soap labels

@DeeAnna - thanks for your response, your insights have been extremely helpful! My shaving soaps contain the usual ingredients - stearic acid, coconut oil, shea butter and castor oil. And as a result, relying on available safety data is exactly what I am trying to do. I was browsing the CIR...

    Warnings on shaving soap labels

Thanks for the discussion thus far. DOes anyone else have knowledge OR an opinion on the 740.10 warning statement on cosmetic labels?

    Warnings on shaving soap labels

All, I am planning on selling men's shaving soap this summer. I have been trying to make sense of the labelling requirements for shaving soaps. I will be labelling my shaving soaps as cosmetics. My question to all the experienced soapers out there is as follows - Is it necessary to list the...
