I'm so sorry your first try didn't work out the way you wanted @dibbles! I saw that Grace adds salt to her CP in hybrid soaps to make it a bit more dense. Maybe that could also help?

Sorry if my wording was confusing. Yes, you can pour a layer of cp then mp then cp again, but you need to pour each time before the soap hardens (or at least that was the intention of the challenge). I set that last bar aside and recently made some MP soap with this blend. Beside the fact that the scent of the new soap is obviously stronger, I don't feel like there are any notes that faded significantly more than others. Hope this helps!

IIRC this test only tells you that there is a minimum amount of potash in your water, not the exact amount (it's a yes/no test or float/doesn't float, not a 'how much does it float/how concentrated is the solution' test. Although it's often touted as the latter). If that makes sense..

I've seen something similar in a public bathroom. There was this thing you had to turn and then soapy powder came out (almost like a salt crusher). That might work on a holiday as well..

I feel like the amyris and cedar have overpowered the lavander since the beginning, so I can't really say to be honest. I'd have to compare this bar to a new one and I still don't have much time to soap, but I'll keep it in mind and try to think of scenting my next soap with this blend😉
