Thanks for the info. I thought my table salt was iodized but considering I never got a weeping soap it must not be. We bought in bulk from Costco and keep it in a bucket. So I don't have any of the nutritional info.

If you remember please let us know as I'm curious. Most things I've read is that people haven't had any issue with ionized salt.

I've used table salt for my bars. I've also read that if you don't want the exfoliating effect of the salt you can dissolve the salt in your water. I agree with @dibbles that a long cure time is better.

Is betaine the same as cocamidopropyl betaine? If not suggestions on where to get some?

@AliOop I was planning on leaving it unscented. I mentioned menthol since she currently uses an expensive lotion with 0.5% in it that she likes. Looking at the lotion ingredients again it uses witch hazel as well. Do you think I could sub some water for the witch hazel or should it just be an...

I'm tryimg to make a good lotion for my grandma. She likes to swim but often has super itchy skin for days afterwards. I'm planning on putting in some colloidal oats and menthol but need some advise on anything else I can add. Anybody know of some stuff that might help?

Is the stuff hard or soft? What's the superfat? Did you use cocoa, mango, or Shea butter? Could it be a fat bloom like you see in lotion bars? 🧐 I've never seen anything like that before.
