What soapy thing have you done today?

My indirectly soapy thing is happening at home as I speak (I’m at work) - we’re having a water filtration & softening system installed! I’m sooo excited. We’ve been living with hard water since we moved into this house 2.5 years ago, along with the itchy skin, dry hair, and pipe residue that...

I learned from the Nerdy Farm Wife’s website.

    Cleansing Balm

I bought the recipe yesterday, along with a couple others (I mean, it was 20% off if I bought three, so…)

    Cleansing Balm

The recipe you have is a lot like the modifications to the recipe I used! LOL This is the sample I got in a Sephora order - I liked it, and like a good DIY-er, I thought, “I bet I can make this for less than I could buy it!” Plus, it meant I got to make stuff. My eventual ingredient list looked...

    Cleansing Balm

A while ago I tried a sample of facial cleansing balm that I’d received and fell in love. I’ve been oil cleansing for several years but as of late, it hasn’t really been working for me. I’ve mentioned in other areas that my current job requires a lot of travel (I’m currently on night #10 in the...

Help me make my first lotion

@dmcgee5034 Maybe alcohol would work on your stainless steel bowls? What I do to get lotion into bottles is similar to a piping bag, except I use a ziplock bag with a corner cut off. I read that somewhere; can’t remember if it was the DIY book or elsewhere. It’s probably cheaper than a piping bag!

    Ph tester? Making lotion

For those that have a pH meter….do you have to buy separate calibrator solutions? If so, what is their shelf life? I don’t currently pH test my lotions (even though I know I should) but I’m thinking I should start. I don’t sell but I do give away, plus my family and coworkers use the lotions I...

    Zing Junior's first batch

Those look amazing! And what a perfect natural color for bee-themed soap. My husband loves orange & patchouli soap - it’s all he’ll use. Smells so good!

What soapy thing have you done today?

Probably depends on the kid. I don’t think mine would have had any issues with it, but then we all tend to not have sensitive skin.

    Lip Balm Questions…

I would convert those mL into percentages, then convert those percentages to grams. Another advantage to that approach is that now you can scale it to make whatever volume you want.

    First pull through soap

Beautiful! I really need to get the stuff to try pull-throughs.
