What soapy thing have you done today?

Packaged a bunch of stain sticks - one of my friends offered to sell some soaps from her little shop. Very excited about getting some more sales.

Favorite and most hated oils to use?

I only use beef tallow. It s easy to find at any butcher, and, if you render t yoursefl, it costs next to nothing and sometimes it is free. I have never bothered to use anything else. We live in a remote village, so it is very difficult to get anythng that is not locally sourced.

What soapy thing have you done today?

At last did the multiple loaves in my slab mold. Managed 4 loaves with space in middle. Had slight incident when the second divider slid away under the pressure of the batter - luckily my wife was helping so we managed to scrape and push it back. All AC with different embeds and confetti. Can't...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Quickly rushed home during lunch to make an urgently awaited batch of "stain sticks" and clean some tallow that I started cooking last night - only to find that my wife has decided to "spring clean" the kitchen - where I make soaps! What chaos! Well, all's well that ends well! Stain sticks...

What soapy thing have you done today?

    Size and weight of soap

I know this has been discussed in a few places, but I still need some answers, can somebody please help? What would be the average size of a bar of soap? If soap loses 10% weight during curing - dies it imply that it also loses 10% of its lenght, width and thickness?

What soapy thing have you done today?

Did a huge batch of tallow and honey soap last night. Had to wait untill the early morning to cut it. Tallow hardens very fast and I was scared it would be too hard. 6 hours later it was perfect for cutting. Feeling the tiredness today at work. 😴 Also did some colour tests on little bits of the...
