    Option paralysis!

1.) Plug in the recipe using the "old" oils. 2.) Look the fatty acid profile over carefully. 3.) Do your best to duplicate the fatty acid profile with the oils of your choice. Just try and get as close as you can. Every recipe will be a bit different. You'll find your "happy place" soon!

    Flying, TSA, and Soap

I simply cannot fly any more. I get no explanation but I am nearly strip searched for attempting to get on a plane. Might be my mis-spent youth or the fact that I am an RSO and firearms instructor. I sent my daughter home one year with a loaf that had been cut into bars with parchment placed in...

    Soleseife soap

I said that I DO need to cut sooner since the salt hardens the soap quicker. If memory serves me correctly I would make soap in the morning and cut in the evening. It may even been as early as the afternoon. The do bear watching - just not as much as salt bars which are an entirely different...

    Whatcha makin for Christmas?

Made two batches of soap yesterday. Nothing fancy just some Black Amber Musk and a Red Santal. I still have another couple batches of soap to make ( Nag Champa/Dragon's Blood at last twice). And then there's a build project for my son in law. But that is fodder for discussion on a different...

How long, O Lord? How long?

John, If you're really OUT of SOAP just start a swap thread or ask for a "few" bars to tide you over. Lots of us have soap just laying around curing for months...

How long, O Lord? How long?

I use slivers from most batches to "test". Most soap cures for at least 6 weeks here. Salt bars go 6 months. When I make castille it cures for a year. That said I need to get cracking on the Christmas soap.

Any Ideas on Who Could Make a Custom Column Mold?

Or use a pvc pipe the diameter of the cylinder you want. You would want to use a release agent of some kind so the silicone wouldn't stick to the pipe. Then use COLD the help release the silicone. Put the pipe in the freezer after the silicone has set so the pipe will shrink.

    Best Fragrance Ever!

I thought maybe you'd tell us the fragrance... Dragon's Blood and Nag Champa? No, that would be tanning by the time you cut it...:D

Soap or not soap, that is the question ?

Soap. Daily. I can't smell my own breathe but that doesn't mean I don't brush my teeth before someone tells me I need to. Same is true for the shower routine.

    Update Sister

Notify your "Sister" and the police that you are going to visit your mom. See what king of push back you get from the LEOs. If they are with you and the ruling/ law then have as pleasant a visit as you can as often as you can. You can use this ruling to push the B***h over the edge. Her sanity...

    All these little orange spots

Sniff seem on? If it's DOS it'll get bad enough to be sure soon. Yeah, I did that too. I think most of us have a couple of times.
