    Third Time Lucky Lavender?

Love them, including the glycerin rivers.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Me too. Those molds are so great, and so expensive, I'm sorry. I've looked at them longingly many times, I feel your pain.

    Lard

Just wait until you use the cured soap, so nice on the skin! Lard is the best!

    50% lye and 50% water ????

I always CPOP, so my bars are brighter but less creamy than people who don't gel. From the water/lye perspective it seems like the more water you use, the more likely it is to heat (and thus gel) and vice versa, all other things being equal, but I don't have much personal experience with...

    Fragrance Sales

@lucycat, that is very useful. I know a lot of FO's have changed MURs post IFRA 49. Sometimes I don't catch that the MUR has dropped significantly until after I've ordered something I've used for a long time, which is pretty annoying. And there are others suppliers like Candle Science where...

    Fragrance Sales

That was a nice FO. And strong (although a pretty good accelerator if I am remembering correctly). Has BB reformulated a lot of FOs in the last few years?

    50% lye and 50% water ????

I'm afraid that I don't understand parts of your post, could you clarify what exactly you mean? Re: a 50/50 mix, that is what most of us use when we masterbatch our lye water (ie; prepare larger quantities in advance so that we don't have to do it for each batch.) If you search here using the...

New to the craft, but need to jump in with 2 feet running!

There are a number of people who sell formulas, but I think many of them include the caveat that you are buying contingent on not making the product for sale. I don't know how they'd enforce that, but I would want to use the formula as a springboard anyway, and change it to make it mine. I...

What soapy thing have you done today?

@Micheal, I just took a look at the cutting part of that video and I think she did cut the bars horizontally. Ie; she poured into an "x" height slab mold, cut the slad in half so that she had two "x" height loafs, then cut them horizontally so that the top swirl was preserved in all of the bars...

    How to delete posts

It's never anything disturbing the mods about, mostly duplicate posts which I seem to keep making. I just don't want to annoy people with them, but I guess there are worse things.

New to the craft, but need to jump in with 2 feet running!

OP, I have to say that when I read your post I didn't reply because I just didn't know what to say. People are generally very helpful to newbies on this board, but I think most of the experienced soapers, chandlers and B&B people probably looked at it, shook their heads and assumed that you'd...

    VikingChick’s Soaps

I really like it! I thought it was a rose before I read your post. I like that it is kind of abstract and that the stem is incorporated in the soap and that the bloom is drawn on.

    Coconut Oil Free Soap

That really is ridiculous. I feel old and cranky, but why change an accurate and widely (if not universally) accepted meaning to something it doesn't mean?

    How to delete posts

Thanks, @DeeAnna. Good to know that I'm not missing anything. I will have to master the art of actually being careful and paying attention when I post.

    Coconut Oil Free Soap

@GuacamoleSalad , OMG, you're right. I was just fooled by their big "Pure Castile" labeling this whole time. That is so misleading.

    How to delete posts

Can someone, for the love of God, tell me how to delete posts? I am constantly double posting by mistake and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to delete them, them. I have looked on the two "more" options in the post "edit" screen and don't see anything.

Karma (Lush Type) FO - Patchouli haters read this.

Thanks, @SideDoorSoaps, both for your input on the WPS dupe and for the recipe.

    Coconut Oil Free Soap

If you don't find anyone here, I'd try Etsy for a well-rated castile bar. Unless you're looking for liquid soap, then you could get Dr. Bronner's castile on Amazon.

I'm curious, too, @KiwiMoose, I'm looking for a input on a Karma dupe.
