    Facial bar/Hyaluronic Acid

Actually, it looks like an MP/glycerin soap base to which they added HLA. I guess that's a good way to do it if you're not adding much since it won't be destroyed by the lye. I agree with everyone thinks that it's a waste/pointless to put it in a wash-off product, though. Makes much more...

What soapy thing have you done today?

@AliOop, that's probably a wise move. I wanted to avoid them because of the waste but at some point (that frankly has probably already passed) sanity should prevail.

    Christmas 2024

I love this thread for the bunnies. And the reminder once it gets to be September!

    Neat Way to Pour?

I've seen that here a number of times, that is the default autocorrect. Weirdly, it only does it some of the time/randomly. The first time I saw it I thought it was an obscure/insider joke that I just didn't get :)

Baby goats to Brighten Your Day

So cute! I love how it looks like the babies are smiling!

    Soap cutter reviews?

I have a single bar Bud cutter and I love it as well. I don't sell, so don't need to cut a bunch at once, and I like looking at each slice as I cut and being able to quickly cut slices of varying thicknesses from a single loaf. But the cutter you've linked to seems good as well.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Finished getting sample FOs ready for pouring, now need to prepare a test batch of batter. I HATE doing samples because my hands are really shaky and it is a PITA to do them one at a time, I have to pour in/pour out/pour in/pour out, seemingly ad infinitum, to get the right teeny amount in...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

It seems like many (most?) of my days are like this. At this point I figure if I have not made any huge mistakes I'm still at least marginally in the plus column.

    Wound care @ home

In this thread @Zing says that his pine tar salve worked wonders for healing facial burns, I wonder if it would help with the scrapes/cuts and the big one after it had healed up some? https://www.soapmakingforum.com/threads/what-bath-body-thing-have-you-done-today.87378/page-41#post-1001651...

    Benzoin as scent fixative

I got it from Etsy, let me know if you want the powder and I'll go find you the link. The powder smells really nice but I don't think that smell survives the lye. As I said, I do think it helps FO scents hang on better (so far).

That woman has GOT to be a soaper.

Shower Lotion Bar Tests and recipes

Me too! Or three :) @Mobjack Bay, it seem like the link you included recommends a polysorbate if you're going the preservative+emulsifier/solubilizer route. ("Should you choose the approach where a water-soluble preservative and emulsifier is added the most obvious choice for the emulsifier...

    Latest Update on Cheryl

That is amazing, Carolyn, so glad to hear it. I don't think you have to be careful about this, it seems like she is a philanthropist who is (maybe) lonely, I would take care of her for the rest of her life if she gets Cheryl through this without you guys having to give up your house/retirement...

    Small bumps on soap surface...

I assumed that the ombre was CP, I didn't realize it was HP. I have never done HP but I didn't realize you could do such a nice design with it. It usually looks so much more rustic. ETA: Ali and I cross-posted, I agree that PH testing with soap is not helpful/mostly a waste of money. I...

Shower Lotion Bar Tests and recipes

@Mobjack Bay what do you think about using a solubilizer? I'm sure this is somehow inapplicable as a shortcut because the CC people would have been like "just use a solubilizer!" but it seem like it woul be the quickest fix if it were to work. I think I read something about this (maybe in one...

    Small bumps on soap surface...

I'm just amazed you managed to get such a pretty ombre with 5% candelilla! I would have expected it to move too fast, you must have had a nice slow mix otherwise.

pH challenge by Dr. Kevin Dunn

@Bronxboyz, this was a really old thread, but it was really fun to re-read. Does anyone know if any of those people (cough, numbskulls, cough) actually submitted their PH neutral "soap" samples in the Dunn contest? I assume not, since as far as I know there have been no ground-breaking...

This is so terrible and sad. Sorry that you, his family, and everyone who cared about him have to go through this. Thank God there are no IRR/physical victims.

Shower Lotion Bar Tests and recipes

@Mobjack Bay, I was working when I read your last post (it was a good one!) so just skimmed it, I meant to come back to it and forgot. Re some of your points: Exfoliants: I've thought of extra-fine pumice as well, I even ordered some but never made it to the testing stage. I'll do that this...
