Soap dough - oil or alcohol to paint embeds

You could just roll them in mica, if painting with a brush though, I would use alcohol as the medium.

    Elusive Cucumber FO

I hear you! I bought Cucumber FO from New Direction aromatics and out of the bottle it smells the same as their watermelon FO.

Thread titles and my very strange mind.

Trying to solve this enigma... do you have any thoughts? I didn’t think me having thoughts was an enigma, since most people do. But to confirm, yes, I do.

What is the difference (in layman's terms) between IFRA48 and IFRA50?

It could be because they have not updated their calculator yet. Among the well known fragrance sellers, they were among the last ones to update their usage rate, they did it after the 50th revision went into effect, while most other sellers updated it well in advance. Also, the IFRA percentage...

What is the difference (in layman's terms) between IFRA48 and IFRA50?

The IFRA 50 is the latest and most recent update. Technically that is the one you should follow, especially if you sell your soap, but it might be too low for CP soap (Will probably be too light).

    Soap Nightmare!

Also post how much lye you used, it could be lye heavy. And do you recall at what temperature was the soap when pouring (or the oils and lye)?

He reminds me of a dog we had, named Terry. He is cute and looks smart too, maybe wait to see his personality more.

    Why Distilled Water for Lotion?

@Misschief I use disodium EDTA at 0.20%, following recommendations from Makingskincare (Jane Barber). I also see that is the common usage rate mentioned in the Lotion Crafter’s product page.

    Mashed banana soap

perhaps if the bars were thinner that would Help? It sounds like you dud everything you could to avoid gel phase, sometimes the ring goes away if it is only there because the center is still moist.

Does anyone here make their own silicone molds for CP soap?

I have done a few, mostly for embeds but also column and slab molds. A tip would be to keep in mind that the silicone will take the texture of whatever it touches. So when making a column mold, for example or the slab mold, I taped the inside of the box and the inside on the car board...

    Mashed banana soap

@CLMP Wsp stands for Wholesale Supplies Plus. Their fragrances are generally good, I find them pricey though, so I usually wait for their sales. I don’t know if they ship to Canada

I love the embed! Which fragrance did you use by the way? I have tried the one from WSP and it faded for me.

Help me solve a sensitivity mystery

Did you use the exact same fragrance for the MP soaps than you did the CP soaps? If so, which fragrance or fragrances were used?

    SMF November 2022 - Trees

@AliOop I saw a tree as well, one that is pointing to the North Pole, perhaps?

    SMF November 2022 - Trees

@Mobjack Bay I love your pine trees! They came out nice! And for the future, feel free to use the same color palette, I would be flattered. I have not had time to make soap lately, but last week someone asked me to make some Christmas themed soap slabs (for gifting, I doubt they will be used)...

Something similar to BB Spiced Red Tea

I used that fragrance once. I thought it had some vanilla because I experienced slight discoloration. It seems it only has a small amount though. It will be tricky as most fragrances with spice notes have had their usage rate diminished greatly. I would try blending the notes myself...
