What soapy thing have you done today?

@Jersey Girl the pictures are nice! at Christmas shows, sets of two soaps have sold better for me than sets of three (in case you want to split some). Probably because they are cheaper.

    Etsy alternatives

Not sure if you are aware, but Etsy has a new program that if If you share your Etsy link directly with someone, they don't collect as many fees, (or as high a percentage). I believe I had to sign up or accept it (it has been a while). Here is more info if you want to read up. I have a store...

Tried a kaleidoscope soap in a loaf mold

@AliOop Oh! on each side. I did have to trim the rods to be just slightly higher than the mold size, because they are otherwise on the way, when pouring. I tried with strings before and they did not work as well, I could not lift them evenly because of the weight of the soap batter (both times...

Tried a kaleidoscope soap in a loaf mold

I can tell you now, not sure if it can be seen well in the video. I used stainless steel hex nuts to hold them in place

Tried a kaleidoscope soap in a loaf mold

I think I should have used more contrasting colors, but overall I am happy with the results. Used mostly micas mixed with neons, though the pink is a straight neon from Makeyourown. Made the pull screen with a 3D printer, with three different flower styles to see which worked best. Used mango...

    Todd Ziegler's VCS

Hi @AliOop I just did some searches again (I remember looking it up before using but since it was last year, I don’t remember what I found then.) in looking up the results I do recall that sodium bisulfate caught my attention because the chemical composition said it had less sulphuric...

    Todd Ziegler's VCS

Another ingredient that has worked well for me is sodium bisulfate. It behaves as well as Natures’s garden vanilla stabilizer In soap. I still need to test it with a floral fragrance that has vanillin, but so far it has worked with bakery type scents. You can see a comparison experiment...

    EOs on my skin

I would think it is the anise that is irritating the skin, given the usage rate %. I would try putting unscented lotion (to dilute what is on the skin), since you seem to have washed it already as best as possible.

    Strong Long Lasting Peach Fragrance

Peaches and cream from Lone Star candle. And also Maple roasted southern peach from Wholesale supplies. I like peaches and cream better but they are both good and lasting.

    Costco or Sams Club?

I personally prefer self checkout, perhaps bc I am an introvert, don’t like long lines and also used to be a cashier. At Sam’s I usually use the Scan and Go app, so I do not get in line, even when the lines are short. I get my olive oil from them. I do try to forget who owns them, as I...

    Resin mixer for soap making?

I would expect that once the soap leftovers have dried, I could press or bend the sides, so they become loose and easier to shake off or rinse out,

@dayna Thank you, they are very handy machines! I do remember that The software was intimidating at first, but after someone showed me how to use it, it became easier.
