    Halp! Volcano or false trace?

Ok. Searched and watched false trace videos. I do not think that was it. It was smooth and creamy Now to check for volcanic action.

    Halp! Volcano or false trace?

I’ve got another batch of the exact same soap prepped and I don’t want the same thing to happen. 😞

    Halp! Volcano or false trace?

HALP! Did I volcano? Did I get false trace? Tallow, shea butter, CO, avo, rice bran, castor. My usual recipe, except added shea butter. Goat milk, honey, colloidal oat pow. Soaped w oils at 115-120, lye mix at 85ish. Stayed surprisingly fluid for awhile, but I was sure I reached emulsion. Put...

    Powdered honey and goat milk.

I added shea butter and colloidal oats to this staple soap. And I finally found the right FO. I’m super excited!!! I wound up taking part of the honey water and dispersing the colloidal oats and goat milk powder into that and adding it stick blended to the oils right before I added the rest of...

    Powdered honey and goat milk.

Revisiting my goat milk and honey soap. I’ve separated out 1/3 of the lye water and dissolved the liquid honey in that. Per Irish lass method I plan on adding that back to the cooled lye water. I have colloidal oat powder and goat milk powder I’d like to also add. What would be the best way to...

    Jelly Soap

I’m considering a melt and pour jelly soap base to play with. Any of you use molds of shapes? Then how did you package them?

What soapy thing have you done today?

Thank you! It has those other ingredients “added for freshness” but I assume they’re small amounts.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Can this packaged lard be used as lard in soap making friend calc? I’ve only used reclaimed bacon grease so far. But I’m short enough bacon grease for one layer in my soap.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Actually got some soap made today with another batch of the same thing prepped for tomorrow. It’s my reclaimed bacon fat soap. It’s one of my most popular and I’ve been out for awhile. Trying to get 3 basic soaps done so they’ll be cured by Christmas. I‘m reformulating my goat milk and honey...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Hey all! I’ve been MIA from soap and body care making. I got busy with deer season (success!), my day job of massage therapist is back in action (sort of), and honestly I’ve been having a challenging mental health time. But, today I measured the fats for one of my signature rustic series soaps...

    Soap Show & Tell

I’m thinking a plate for the bottom and one for the top. The top one fits the pvc but can be lifted off to remove the pull through plate. 3 plates total. That was a fun unmolding!! 3 out of 4 designs the batter got too thick. Really the difference between 5 degrees, 10 seconds extra stick...

    Soap Show & Tell

It’s been WAY too long since I made soap. Yesterday I made 4 pull throughs. I’m happy to say, I think I still got it! I also did an experiment I’ve wanted to do for awhile. I slid a small embed down the middle of one. I”m trying to think of ways I could stabilize the embed top and bottom, and...

I prefer the fiberglass to the metal pans because metal can interact with many ingredients.

    Best eucalyptus mint FO?

The one from Nurture Soap is great! It behaves and lasts in soap and I also use it in bath bombs.
