New to soap making too and the Fatty Acid Profile article was my go to while trying to figure out how to balance my recipes.
I’d never read the Classic Bells article. But I’ve come to the same conclusion after a lot of trial and error. Bother articles are great reads!! Thanks so much for sharing 🤗
So this is how my experiment turned out. I took some shavings and washed with it. Super great lather!! But not sure if I like the feel of poppyseeds. I’m really used to the gritter feel of larger pieces of salt. (Salt was added to this recipe, but since I figured the puppy seeds were doing the...
I was thinking the same thing. I’m assuming this manufacturer is going for the all natural vibe and if you listed ingredients by concentration it might mislead their target market. Notice how they explain what the NaOH is for? So you don’t frighten the horses 😏
Anyway, I’ll see today if my...
You'll get no argument from me on your points. But unfortunately part of America's founding principles of "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" "even if you have no straps or boots and if you have neither it's your own damn fault" make it impossible for the problems to be solved if it means...
I don’t disagree with you. Part of the problem is the homeless themselves and the way personal rights has gone off the rails and the government’s response! There must be a balance but it will hurt getting there. And there is no appetite for that. 😢

This foray started with something I read somewhere. I think it was an add or something. Starting down this dark...
I live near Modesto CA now. It’s small in comparison to SEA. Homelessness is everywhere 😥. To fix this problem would require more socialism than the US can stand 😥
The ingredients for this soap states:
Organic Babassu Seed Oil, Organic Olive Fruit Oil, Big Sur Sea Salt, French Blue Clay, Organic Black Poppyseeds, Organic Peppermint Essential Oil, Sodium Hydroxide
This probably takes a long cure time?
Second attempt at a nautilus swirl. not sure I like the colors and I think the swirling tool I used was too thin for the effect that I wanted. But not too unhappy. This recipe has cream and lard in the batter. Can’t wait to test it out in six weeks!
I cut my first nautilus swirl. Live the top but it didn’t spiral all the way through. Probably didn’t take my stick all the way through the batter. 🤦🏽♀️ And the colors look better on top then inside 🤔
Also, lots of spots. Probably the sugar I added into my liquid didn’t dissolve. But when you...
