    is it possible ?

Moisturizing doesn’t have to mean greasy. A barrier alone doesn't retain moisture. My son doesn’t like greasy feel either. I make a lotion he really likes. It’s possible to make. You can’t avoid a little moisturizer as you age.

What soapy thing have you done today?

So here are my attempts. The one on the right I added some red mica trying to make the soap look more tomatoie. I took a little bit of the soap and washed my hands with it and the suds are pink, but not excessive. There is some salt but not enough to call it assault soap. I kind of like the one...

    Exfoliating soap with two oils?

4.5%. The soaps been sitting for a bit so I used a bit because I was curious out the exfoliating experience. I think I can lover the percentage. But I’ll know for sure after a full cure.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Second experiment in making a dup of a mass market, high priced soap. This one is red, I used paprika infused olive oil, French red clay and a little mica for a tomato red color. Just hoping I didn’t over due it with the mica and clay. Knowing me…I probably did 🤦🏽‍♀️

    Thyme extract use for scent?

So I made a 500 gram loaf and my fragrance load was 40%. What may have stopped things from seazing up is the fragrance I added was a blend of the thyme and a peppercorn FO. The thyme was less than half of the mixture. The loaf was colored red and I was trying to go with a tomato-herby vibe. I do...

    Thyme extract use for scent?

I don't think it was temp because my lye was at 79 and my oils were at 95 which averages out to 87. Not really hot or is 87 warm enough for the alcohol to evaporate?

    Thyme extract use for scent?

I added 7 grams of extract along with 12 grams of FO at emulsion. I tend not to do a huge amount of stick blending.

    Beef Tallow and Essential Oils

I've had the experience of herbal scents sticking to my skin but fruity smells (the ones I really like) I have to increase the usage rate to get the same effect. I actually would prefer not to have the smell stick. To many layers of unconnected scent makes for a bad smell in general. :-(

    Thyme extract use for scent?

I don't know why, but the batter didn't seize! After adding the lye, I actually had a pretty long time to hand stir into a med/thick trace. My batter only had two oils, salt, coconut milk and I masterbatched my lye. The loaf is all one color so I just had to pour it into the mold. :)

    Thyme extract use for scent?

This is what I’m talking about. It’s also an ingredient in a commercially available soap. I’m assuming it’s used as part of the fragrance profile. Just wondering if anyone has any experience using it.

    Thyme extract use for scent?

Just wondering usage rate for thyme extract in cp soap? I was thinking for a strong scent 2% of oil weight?

Really Close Pears Soap Copycat Recipe

Since the fragrance recipe is from the 1800’s do you think it could have a bit of ambergris in it? You might research classic scents in the 19th century. Some of the stuff used then we don’t use or think of today 🤔
