Questions re Zany's No Slime Castille soap

Did you add the powder directly to the batter or add it to water to make aloe juice?

    How do you increase bubbles?

I haven't used a lot of Aloe even though I have it. I know what Aloe claims to do for skin but what does Aloe do for the soap?

    Lather test

I really appreciate all the work it takes to do this kind of analysis. The information is informative. I’m not numbers oriented at all but work around data scientists and have learned to appreciate them. But I fell asleep too! Lol!! I’ve learned to skip the numbers and skip to the conclusions 😏

    How do you increase bubbles?

I’m pretty happy with the recipe but need a few adjustments. 1. The lather is creamy and cushiony but feels a bit slimy when tested against commercial soap. Is that too much Castor? 2. While the bubbles are creamy I’m not getting the big bubbles happening quickly once the water hits it. Is this...

Nail oil with water? How does this possibly work?

Thanks @AliOop. I always appreciate your knowledge. I should have done more research before posting and been a little more specific. I realized the last two ingredients were preservatives but didn't understand the others were also part of the preservative system. Urea, disodium phosphate...

Nail oil with water? How does this possibly work?

This nail oil has water in it and no emulsifier and, to me, very little preservative. How do you make this work? Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Prunus Armeniaca Fruit Water, Pentylene Glycol, Pyrus Malus Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Urea, Disodium Phosphate...

    Is this “soap”

So is describing it this way trying to avoid using NoAh? And I’m a new soaper and don’t understand why you would add glycerin and at what point you would add it?

Is this “soap”? It’s advertised as soap 🤔

Where did you learn to soap?

YouTube!! I started with channels devoted to MP. But of course, the algorithm also tried to show me soap channels for CP soap. The thought of using lie really freaked me out so I stuck with MP soaps for a couple of Christmases. Then I saw Holly’s channel and I dived in.🤗 Made a lot of mistakes...

What soapy thing have you done today?

So for this soap, I’m using pumice that I grind up in a mortar and pestle. I thought maybe the blades on my coffee grinder with dull because I’m grinding rock. I am trying to make a non-mechanics soap for my son who uses Dr. squash. And he likes a bit of grit, but since I don’t know how much...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I’m with you!! I made a plan, for me, one color soap experimenting with grit. Today’s was 2.25% ppo. Yesterday‘s was 1.5% ppo. Hard to wait 4 weeks for the reveal!!! 😏

How to make bath salts that don't clump? (I've tried everything)

I've also read you can bake them. Has anyone tried that method?

    Undesolved milk powder

Thanks! I’ll try that. I don’t mind the speckles. Just irritated that powder left speckles and the reconstituted ice cubes I made didn’t. 😢

Why do you like making soap?

Do customers understand the difference between CP and M&P? The disclosure would indicate which one had more natural ingredients. Other than that, the customer would have to really understand what they were reading. 😏

    Undesolved milk powder

IDK- I’ve used this milk powder before but the results didn’t look gritty 😢

    Lye Forming Crust

I’ll define to others but maybe check the purity of the lye. It should be 99%. And also try distilled water. Depending on where you live the water may have too many impurities 😏

    Chunky lye and milk solution

When you do milk in oil, ignore the liquid needed amount from your soap calculator. Instead, the amount of lye needed will be equal to your goats milk and and to your water. In other words Lye weight = water = milk Check out Hollys soap making for a really good explanation.

    Lye Forming Crust

Dumb questions: 1. Tap or distilled water? 2. Is the liquid from ice cubes? 3. Any additives added to water? 4. What purity is your lye? 5. Did you stir until lye was dessolved?

    Undesolved milk powder

Made this yesterday. This is designed to be a facial soap. Added clay and powdered milk to oils and then added lye. Maybe I should reverse that order?
