What's going on with my lotion bars?

And this is what irritates me with Wholesale Supplies Plus. Crafter's Choice Smooth & Creamy Lotion Bar Additive sells for $32.15 lb and is Polyglycerol-3 Beeswax. This is the same as Cera Bellini which sells for $54.23 per lb on their website.

    Moving Day!

My lot is a rectangle, and it is on an angle to take advantage of the view from certain windows. I lived most of my life in the hills with a view of the city lights, so it was necessary. @KDP I do have plenty of room for a garden, the problem there is a very short growing season so...

    Moving Day!

Not far from our little town, but 160 miles east of us to Reno where I have to go for Costco, Winco, Sams, and Smart & Final. Other than that it is Walmart in town or a couple local grocery stores. No big chain stores. The other larger town is Elko which is 130 miles West of us.

    Moving Day!

Only 3 acres is ours. The fencing really does not show. The land size is the same as my neighbor and it is easier to tell looking at his where it is brown from the road back.

    Moving Day!

Our moving day is almost here. We should be moving on Tuesday if all goes as expected with our escrow closing. My house is on the left. LOL, not much out there. Hopefully, we will be able to get our garage if my daughter's tests come out okay. 🙏🙏🙏. We need some grading, gravel, a garage, and a...

    How to fix this recipe?

I would definitely not put beeswax in a pine tar recipe. Pine tar alone causes acceleration along with the 50+% of tallow. AliOops recipe would be good, which is similar to my pine tar soap although I use 15% neem oil in my pine tar soaps.

Here I go again Prayers Please

She never told me she had some in her ****** too. They are going to do a needle biopsy today on those. Yesterday they also removed some 🙏🙏growths from the inside of her nose. Doc told her they were spongey the same as the ones in the roof of her mouth. This waiting for results is horrible 🙏 🙏

    How do you increase bubbles?

I would go with these suggestions but I would cut the OO to no more than 20%, adding the difference to your Lard. Also Dual lye will help kick up bubbles in high stearic soaps. I use it in all my soaps at 95/5% NaOH/KOH, and I find sodium gluconate at 1.1% total batch works better than citric...

Aloe vera juice - where do you purchase yours?

I always purchased mine from Walmart. Any Aloe juice as far as I know is going to have preservatives in it.

    Tussah silk

I used to buy cleaned silk cocoons and add them to my masterbatch. I also liked the silky feel it adds. As mentioned above, I only added it to my non-vegan soaps so I always had 2 jugs of masterbatched lye.

Here I go again Prayers Please

Just when I thought I could finally breathe easy they found 3 masses in the roof of Cheryl's mouth back near her throat. A small update, she has had 3 surgeries, emergency, this past week to remove teeth and some restorative work in her mouth and ended up back in the hospital. She mentioned to...

    Tiger straps problem

I think you are mixing up saponification with gelling. Unless as Artemis mentioned it is soft and zapping it is saponified which can take up to 72 hrs to complete. It looks like your soap fully gelled so I would guess some of the lighter color bled and diluted your last color line in that area...

Thought I had conquered DOS... it's back! At a loss :(

First off to answer you question I would suggest upping the SG to 1% total batch weight. Now for the not-asked question and just a suggestion from a long-time seller in multiple weekly markets. I would certainly lower the CO to 17-20%, 17% max was my normal max. My Dragon's Blood soaps were...

Deodorant stick - close but not quite

There are two big problems with CO: the low melt point and the high chance of the yellow staining of light clothing. I still highly prefer the combination of Magnesium Hydroxide and Babassu Oil as my main ingredients, with some BTMS25, Cety Alcohol, Zinc Ricinoleate, wax of choice, fragrance...
