    Wound care @ home

Thank you so very much. I have known about mountainroseherbs.com for years, but need to start going back there again! I now have a little note on my computer screen to remind me to start looking at these sites! Thanks so much for the info, and about the lotion bars. The only problem I have...

April 2024 SMF Challenge - CAKE!

Thanks so much, I was going to use it as an embed to begin with but didn't like what it looked like, so re-thought my direction and I am going down tonight after my birthday celebration and see how it turned out! Made a carrot cake so took some over to my neighbor and came to find out his...

Help my silicone loaf mould shrunk.

If you can find big paper clamps to hold them next to the edges of a box that you can make out of thin plywood...use wood glue to hold it together they will stay straight sided. I bought two of the "not so perfect" Nuture's silicon 7.5# mold that is crazy thin (that is why it is not so...

AliOop, can I use a M&P as a small part of a layer? Would that be considered an embed? Please tell me yes!

    Wound care @ home

It sounds like you are okay, BUT, if you get up from a chair, bed, etc., and feel dizzy get to the ER room immediately. I fell over a 2x4 that was bolted to the floor in the garage last March and I thought I was just fine, but my son insisted that I was going to the ER and it was a good thing...

Baby goats to Brighten Your Day

Your babies are sooo adorable! I love the way they jump around, watching the male shooing them away with his head made me laugh! I live smack in the middle of the city, but trust me, I would have a goat in a nano-second if I could have a privacy fence! I used to get my goat milk from a goat...

    Anyone else into 3d Printing?

I have a friend who is an artist, who is designing my stamp, so I should have it soon...I am quite excited. Then come all the goodies I have in my head for this new machine, my poor son will wish he never purchased it!

    Anyone else into 3d Printing?

My son just bought me one for my birthday! It is also self-serving for him as well! I ask him to make me something for my soapmaking and he gives it to me! The first thing is my soap stamp, then I have a list a mile long that I need/want, want/need haven't figured out which is which yet LOL. He...

    Chocolate soap

You need to use Dutch processed cocoa powder. Dutch processed involves adding an alkalizing agent to neutralize the acidity and it is a lot darker than natural cocoa powder. I add mine to the oils.

April 2024 SMF Challenge - CAKE!

Okay Kiwi Moose, I might as well fall on my face big time or actually make some soap that looks like a cake. This will be my first soap challenge and the first soap I have made in many, many years, so here I go! I might need help uploading a photo or two because I don't do computer stuff...

    Mobjack Bay 2024

When my husband passed away, I thought I would die. I was so mad at him for leaving me! I know irrational!! He was my best friend, and my second husband, we were married for 32 years. When I met him I was a single mom raising a son since he was 18 months old, and I went back & finished...

    Mobjack Bay 2024

That is hilarious! My DH turned mine on his lath, I will have to find them and send a pic. they are quite handy, flat on the bottom and round to fit the PVC cap, and are about 6-8" high! You should see the Cherry Asian-style bedroom set he made us... beautiful! I still have lots of his turned...

    What happened to Zany_in_CO?

She was a great addition to this forum and sure helped me in the beginning! I think a lot of us will quite miss her! If you do, please give her my regards, and tell her I miss her! Marla

    Mobjack Bay 2024

I will step in here and tell you what I do with my PVC tubes. I cut a piece of silicone that fits the bottom of the tube perfectly, then I cover it with a double layer of plastic wrap, secure that with painter's tape and then screw the bottom on. If you look in the plumbing department you will...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I have searched and can't find the differences between Duck and Goose fat for soaping. From what I have read they are quite similar. So going forward, many years ago I was in Prague and sweet-talked our waitress into bringing me a BIG box of goose fat to take home so I could render it to bring...

    Yay for broken ankles

My heart is with you on this, nothing like being out of commission when you have everything planned for a few months in advance! Crutches are the worst, see if you can get one of those little knee scooters, they are so much easier to navigate and your armpits and arms won't feel like they are...
