My First Soap, what do you see?

I don't see ash, just some partial gel. Soap looks great, I love uncolored

    Soap Powder Rebatch?

Another way to use powdered soap is put it in a shaker bottle, a grated parmesan cheese bottle works really well.

    Nothing fancy, but…..

The few times I've use kaolin, I've mixed it with water then blend it into the oils really well

    What are these spots?

That FO discolors and since you hand stirred it, I'm thinking its FO that hasn't been mixed quite enough. I agree its harmless

    Syndopour: kaolin for slip?

I personally despise clay on my hair, it sucks every bit of moisture out of it. What about dimethicone?

    What should I order?

It has really bad reviews and multiple pictures of the mold falling apart, stick with crafters choice.

I want to know properties of a soap in a market

There is no way to know without a label. You could ask the maker but I've never had someone willing to share

Ugh, I think I ruined my silicone mold

Wonder if the wax would get hard if you froze the mold? Might be able to pop most of it out before washing.

    Salt Bars

They aren't too bad. I've made a couple HP soap batches, they always come out rustic. I didn't even try to add color but they had nori in them so were also moldy looking. Just for fun, I can't hear blue cheese without thinking of this

    Shea Butter

found a pic of the ingredients, looks like soap

Mystery of the week...why the different colors?

What color are your molds? I've had red molds stain my soap orangy

    My creepy spiders

I'd be happy to share but she won't mature for another 5+ years. Some species are really slow growing. I do expect her color to really start getting vivid within the next couple molts

    My creepy spiders

@Dan9250 thank you, I've needed bug ID before

    possible lye pockets- any advice?

Your blender is working fine at mixing the soap, air bubbles don't hurt anything. I don't think a kitchenaid would make a difference so stick with what is working for you. Do you happen to have dry skin? Are you using winter heat? My skin get incredibly dry during the winter, I have to be...

    possible lye pockets- any advice?

If the soap isn't zappy then its not lye heavy and you don't have to worry on that front. Does the soap hurt you while you are using it or after you dry your hands? What scent was used? The additional clay could be drying your skin and making it hurt while some spicy FO can sting sensitive skin...

    My creepy spiders

They are so stinking cute. Do you have fruit flies for it? easiest way to feed the tinies

    My creepy spiders

I don't know what a little green pea spider is but I can say they are harmless. There are only a few venomous species in the US and none are green. That being said, I don't care for them in the house either. I do try to catch them and put outside. @Kiti Williams I never have liked wolf spiders...

    Scary HP microbatch!

Not sure why it bubbled up so bad but if it went into vaseline stage, its ready to be poured

    My creepy spiders

I had a spider bit on my hip years ago, took a long time to heal. Never been bit by a tarantula, I make sure to keep my fingers away from any fiesty ones
