What soapy thing have you done today?

Super cool, thanks for sharing but it was not the one I'm thinking of. If I had to guess the location I would say Japan. It's all filmed outside. The woman has the look of total peace on her face. The mold is clear.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Sounds similar to Aleppo soap. Did they use laurel berry oil? I bought some Aleppo soap from a local Arab market. I really like the scent, but am not a fan of olive oil. Speaking of rabbitholes YouTube videos, I've been searching for one and can't find it. This woman starts with burning...

Help! Replicating soap bar without the full ingredients list

I'm curious what the maker used for scent. In my experience, the scent of cocoa butter does not survive saponification.

    Impatient or soft recipe

Welcome to the Forum! I'm experienced now but we all were beginners at some point. I shoot for 60% hard butters (solid at room temperature) to 40% soft oils (liquid at room temperature. You have 10% butters. I don't know how to classify olive oil -- it's a unique oil. Olive oil soaps...

    Stick blender questions

Ditto to all the above. My stick blender likes to bring out its spoon side most of the time with the rare 3-second burst. I stir for like 3 minutes to emulsion or light trace.

Holy cow is right! Congratulations. Real nice job there. Do you mind sharing what you used for colors? I like that combo.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Look up Soap Queen online or YouTube, and Soaping 101 on YouTube. I normally like to do a ton of research but when I started, I just found a recipe and jumped in. It wasn't until after making several batches that I discovered so many soapy rabbit holes online -- and of course my very favorite...

How can I tell if a batch wasn't emulsified?

You used a safe usage rate for lavender essential oil. For safe usage rates, I use online calculators. I used to use Bramble Berry and I believe they ask for total batch weight. But now I use eocalc.com which is AWESOME and they ask for total oil weight. I plugged your recipe in:

    Zing Junior's first batch

Thanks! Sorry, I don't know exactly. I had a container of red palm oil to use up and then added regular palm oil to get to my desired weight. My good guess would be 20%. A little goes a long way!

suggestions for a Manuka honey face wash?

Thanks for the advice. Masks are not my thang but Mrs. Zing likes 'em. So I'll probably go with your #1. Thanks for getting back to me.

suggestions for a Manuka honey face wash?

Talented friends, I did a search here unsuccessfully so am starting a thread. I want to make a liquid face wash with Manuka honey. I also have apple cider vinegar on hand. I have dozens of other ingredients in my soap shop including activated charcoal, jojoba, sweet almond, rice bran, avocado...

    essential oil blend

Welcome to the Forum! For years, I would blend me essential oils while everything else was cooling. This year, however, I'm trying something new thanks to our friend, [ gah, @QuasiQuadrant has gone into witness protection and I'm blanking on her new name! ]. I am mixing up my essential oil...

Is it important that oil & lye/water temps be within 10 degrees when blending?

My process is the same as @KiwiMoose . When I was a noob, I was obsessed with temperatures. Now I feel the melted oil pot and the lye solution container. When both are 'warm to the touch', I mix 'em. However, in the winter, in my cool basement soap shop, I do stick a thermometer in the oils...
