What soapy thing have you done today?

Just came here to give soapers who use neem oil a bad time. This week I've been applying neem oil on my yard, you know, for it's intended use as an insecticide. Now I can barely walk through the yard without fainting from the stench. Hoo-boy that smell is strong and I'm outside in fresh air...

    Stained soap saver?

I have WHITE soap savers like this: My son, Sting's first recipe used a higher proportion of red palm oil than I have used. The soap savers are now stained orange and so far nothing has worked. I tried soaking them overnight in water, soaking them in water/vinegar, dishwashing machine. They...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I tossed a bar of soap today! I feel bad about it. My best friend travels internationally a lot and always brings me a bar of soap. Yesterday I opened a bar from Vietnam that was scented curcumin and it had a strong savory scent. Mrs. Zing says "why does the bathroom smell like movie theater...

    Gelling in peanuts 😜

That is great looking soap! Congratulations. I gel by burying my soap under a pile of towels.

Jojoba oil for long-lasting, big bubbles?

Just ditto to all the above. I love jojoba in my lotion bars. I'm just a hobbyist but I'm sure there are sellers that include portions of expensive or exotic ingredients for label appeal.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Wow, if that's your "failure," what does your successful batch look like?! That is super impressive work! Also, I don't believe that it is only your fifth batch, liar liar pants on fire. :)

    Traveling with cp soap

I'm glad that I remembered to pack my soap on my last 2 trips. I also take my own soap to the gym. I use a covered plastic soap dish.

    Wound care @ home

Sorry to hear about the basal cell. Not fun. Our son, Sting, would dab honey on his scars and then cover with a bandage.

    Wound care @ home

I missed this. (:secret:If you type the @ sign and then start typing the username, they get an alert.) Yes, I also recommend Nerdy Housewife. Honeybee and Me is also good but she's like lightyears beyond my abilities. Also the search bar on this Forum! Also read @AliOop 's posts about skin...

    Wound care @ home

So sorry to hear you are hurt! Sending you well wishes for quick healing. First line of defense: Adopt the attitude that scars make you look like a bad-a-- Viking and you are not to be messed with. Apply liberally on all affected areas. I use Manuka honey on my face daily and have...

How do you store your CP during the curing process

I poked holes in the shoe boxes for some airflow.

    Chocolate soap

I'm late to the party. I love using cocoa powder as a colorant. Also, benzoin resinoid is a heavenly scent. Not sure it is what you're looking for. It smells like a malt shop, vanilla-y and chocolatey. I use it with peppermint for my hot chocolate soap. Good luck!

What soapy thing have you done today?

So have you gotten to use any cured soap yet? I've said this before but I got into cold process for the creativity (color, scent, design) and got a huge pleasant surprise that my skin health turned completely around. You're gonna love it. There he is! I've been so curious. Frame that first...

How do you store your CP during the curing process

For 8 weeks, I put bars on shelving units in alternating rows for air flow. Once cured, they go in shoeboxes that have a few holes in them.
